''Redheads Preferred'' is a 1926 American silent comedy film directed by Allen Dale and starring Raymond Hitchcock, Marjorie Daw and Theodore von Eltz.Slide p.242 It was produced by the independent studio Tiffany Pictures. The film's sets were designed by the art director Edwin B. Willis. Synopsis In order to secure a business contract, loyal husband John Morgan drinks heavily and agrees to accompany a mysterious read-headed woman to a dance. Discover what is going on his wife dresses up in a red wig and turns up as his escort for the night. At first very jealous, after a series of misunderstandings she comes to understand her husband's intentions and helps his secure the contract while keeping her identity secret. Douglas Bronston (1887 – 1951) was an American screenwriter and writer. Biography Born in 1887 in Richmond, Kentucky, Bronston worked at newspapers before joining the Balboa Amusement Producing Company's scenario department as one of several newspaper men recruited into the film industry. He wrote the stories for various films and film serials as well as screenplays based on stories written by others. He died in 1951 in Santa Monica, California. Vivien Oakland
Vivien Oakland (born Vivian Ruth Andersen; May 20, 1895 – August 1, 1958), was an American actress best known for her work in comedies in Hollywood in the 1920s and 1930s, most notably with the Hal Roach Studios. Oakland appeared in 157 films between 1915 and 1951. Family Born Vivian Ruth Andersen in San Francisco, California, she was the daughter of Norwegian immigrants Edward Andersen and Anna Marthine Olsen. Her siblings' names were Edward, Herbert (née Hagbart), and Edna. She was one half of the vaudeville team "The Oakland Sisters" with her younger sister Edna, who later performed in motion pictures as Dagmar Oakland.
