''Redeemer'' ( pt, Redentor) is a 2004 Brazilian drama film, the debut film of director Cláudio Torres. Plot In the 1970s, in Rio de Janeiro, the neighborhood of Barra da Tijuca was a kind of promised land. One of several buildings on the site was the Paradise Condominium, a luxury building that would be constructed by the contractor of Dr. Sabóia (José Wilker). Celio, still a child, is impressed with the model of the enterprise, shown by his friend Otávio, son of Dr. Sabóia. With the excitement of the son, his parents decide to buy an apartment in Paradise Condominium, the number 808. However, despite having paid all the benefits for years, the family of Celio would never occupied the apartment again. Fernanda Torres
Fernanda Pinheiro Monteiro Torres (born 15 September 1965) is a Brazilian film, stage and television actress and writer. She was born in Rio de Janeiro, the daughter of the Oscar-nominated actress Fernanda Montenegro and the actor Fernando Torres. In May 1986, she received the Best Actress Award at Cannes Festival for '' Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar'' at the age of 20. She is married to movie producer and director Andrucha Waddington, who directed her and her mother in the 2005 film '' The House of Sand''. Mauro Mendonça (born April 2, 1931) is a Brazilian actor. Born in Ubá, he started his career in 1955 in the Teatro Brasileiro de Comédia. He debuted in the 1963 TV Excelsior telenovela ''Corações em Conflito''. He went on to act on Rede Record and TV Tupi before moving to Rede Globo in 1973, where he continues to practice acting. He has been married to actress Rosamaria Murtinho since 1959, and has three children: director Mauro Mendonça Filho, actor Rodrigo Mendonça, and musical producer João Paulo Mendonça. Jean Pierre Noher (born May 5, 1956) is a French-born Argentine actor. Biography A great-nephew of director Max Ophüls, Noher was born in Paris, in 1956. Fernando Monteiro Torres (14 November 1927 – 4 September 2008) was a Brazilian actor and voice-over artist, as well as a television, film and theater director and producer. Torres' career in Brazilian film, stage and television spanned over five decades. He was best known to international movie audiences for his supporting role as Americo in the 1985 film, '' Kiss of the Spider Woman'', which won several awards. He was born in Guaçuí, Espírito Santo, Brazil, on November 14, 1927. Torres was married to Academy Award-nominated Brazilian actress Fernanda Montenegro from 1953 until his death. José Wilker Almeida (20 August 1944 – 5 April 2014) was a Brazilian film, stage, and television actor and director. The actor gained fame in telenovelas like '' Roque Santeiro'' (1985), but became known internationally for his role as Vadinho, the husband who returns from the dead to tempt Sônia Braga in the movie ''Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands'' (1976). Career Wilker was born on August 20, 1944 in Juazeiro do Norte. He started his career as a radio announcer at a radio in Ceará, where he was born.
