The Redding Rage was a professional women's football team based out of Redding, California, that were members of the Independent Women's Football League. They played their home games at various locations in the Redding area. Redding, California
Redding is the economic and cultural capital of the Shasta Cascade region of Northern California and the county seat of Shasta County. Redding lies along the Sacramento River, north of Sacramento, and south of California's northern border with Oregon. Its population is 95,542 as of the 2022 census, up from 89,861 from the 2010 census. Etymology During the Gold Rush, the area that now comprises Redding was called Poverty Flats. In 1868 the first land agent for the Central Pacific Railroad, a former Sacramento politician named Benjamin Bernard Redding, bought property in Poverty Flats on behalf of the railroad so that it could build a northern terminus there. In the process of building the terminus, the railroad also built a town in the same area, which they named Redding in honor of Benjamin Redding. In 1874 there was a dispute over the name by local legislators and it was changed for a time to Reading, in order to honor Pierson B. Reading, who arrived in the area in 1843 ...

Independent Women's Football League
The Independent Women's Football League (IWFL) was the first Women's American football league established by women players for women players. The league was founded in 2000, began play in 2001, and played its last season in 2018. Members of the original roster of the Austin Outlaws were the league's founders. Following the establishment of the league as a separate entity from the team, former outlaws players Laurie Frederick, Jaime Bailey and Sandra Plato became the original IWFL executive council. Cape Fear Thunder
The Cape Fear Thunder is a football team in the Women's Spring Football League (WSFL) based in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Home games are played at John P. Daskyll Stadium on the campus of Reid Ross High School. The Thunder began in 2003 as the Fayetteville Thunder in the Women's Football League. After a one-season hiatus, the team returned to action as the Cape Fear Thunder. In 2005 and 2006, the Thunder played in the Women's Professional Football League. From 2007 to 2009, the Thunder competed in the Independent Women's Football League. 2011 saw the team moving to a new women's football league, the Women's Spring Football League. The Cape Fear Thunder captured the WSFL's 2011 8's Division National Championship after a 4-2-1 record for the season. Detroit Demolition
The Detroit Demolition was a women's American football team based in the Detroit, Michigan area. During their most recent season, home games were played at Franklin High School in Livonia. They joined the National Women's Football Association (NWFA) in 2002 as the Detroit Danger, winning a national championship. Their only loss that year was in the regular season to the Cleveland Fusion by a score of 14–3. History Founded by entrepreneur Kris Dreyer in 2002 as a member of the National Women's Football League (NWFA), the Detroit Danger posted a 10-1 inaugural season under Head Coach Tony Blankenship, winning the national championship against the Massachusetts Mutiny 48–30. The New Mexico Menace is a football team in the Independent Women's Football League based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Home games are played at Wilson Stadium on the campus of Albuquerque High School Albuquerque High School is a public high school near Downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. Nor Cal Red Hawks
The Nor Cal Red Hawks are a women's football team based in Redding, California. They are members of the Independent Women's Football League. They played in 2010 as an exhibition team and began play of their first regular season in 2011 in Sacramento. However, injuries postponed their 2011 season. There is one other women's football team in Redding, who are in the same league as the Red Hawks: the Redding Rage. It was announced in 2012 that the team would relocate to Redding for 2013. The Red Hawks will now play in the IWFL's Pacific West division, along with the California Quake The California Quake was a women's professional tackle football team based in Los Angeles County, California.
