Red Salute (2006 Film)
''Red Salute'' is a 2006 Malayalam film that was directed by Vinod Vijayan and produced by Milan Jaleel. The film starred Kalabhavan Mani as Chaala Vaasu, an activist and head load worker. Synopsis ''Red Salute'' follows the character of Chaala Vaasu (Kalabhavan Mani), a coolie that eventually works his way to the top of the abkari liquor trade business. Despite this bringing him great fortune, Vaasu begins to realize that this fortune comes with its own problems and starts longing for his former life and the simplicity he thinks it brought. Vinod Vijayan
Vinod Kumar Vijayan is an Indian film director, writer and producer. He got International Video Festival Award for his first Short Film MASK in age of 18. He also won Berlinale international crystal bear award for the movie OTTAL. In 2013, he received National Award for his film Annayum Rasoolum. He is known for his works in Malayalam and Telugu cinema. His films include ''Quotation'' (2004), '' Red Salute'' (2006) and ''D Company: The Judgement Day'' (2013). Devan Sreenivasan (born January 8, 1952), is an Indian film and television actor, producer, and politician from Kerala. Vijayaraghavan (born 20 December 1951) is an Indian actor who predominantly works in Malayalam cinema. He is popular for his character roles. He is the son of popular drama and cinema artist N. N. Pillai. He got his break by playing the iconic character ''Ramji Rao'' in 1989 film Ramji Rao Speaking. This character later got the cult status in Malayalam Cinema.
