Red Lightning (band)
Red Lightning were a Los Angeles-based rock band composed of English guitarist Alain Whyte (of Morrissey's band) on lead vocals and guitar, John DiMambro on bass guitar and Milo Todesco on drums. The band lists U2, The Clash, The Cult, The Smiths and Morrissey as its influences. Background The three band members have a diverse musical background spanning punk to rockabilly to English pop to orchestral. Alain Whyte was most renowned as a guitarist, supporting vocalist and co-writer in Morrissey. Whyte has a background in rockabilly. John DiMambro (aka Johnny Anger) is a long-time fan of Morrissey and The Smiths. John grew up in Los Angeles' punk scene. Jack Grisham
Jack Grisham (born July 22, 1961) is an American rock vocalist, musician, raconteur and political activist from Southern California. He is the vocalist for the punk rock band T.S.O.L. (True Sounds of Liberty), which emerged from the late 1970s Los Angeles hardcore punk rock scene, along with Black Flag, Circle Jerks and Bad Religion. Grisham has also fronted the bands Vicious Circle, the Joykiller, Tender Fury and Cathedral of Tears. He records with T.S.O.L., the Joykiller and the Manic Low. Zero Down
Zero Down was an American punk rock trio formed by former Strung Out bassist Jim Cherry, former Down by Law (band), Down by Law drummer Milo Todesco and former War Called Peace guitarist John McCree. Frontman Cherry (who was also guitarist and songwriter for Strung Out and Epitaph Records band Pulley (band), Pulley) enlisted the support of Fat Wreck Chords owner Fat Mike, who released the band's first (and only) album, ''With a Lifetime to Pay'' in 2001. The music was a throwback to mid-1990s melodic skate punk, and was well received. The band added a fourth member in August 2001, ex-Lagwagon guitarist Shawn Dewey. Zero Down came to a premature demise on July 7, 2002, with the death of Jim Cherry from a lifelong heart condition. Pully () is a municipality in Switzerland in the canton of Vaud, located in the district of Lavaux-Oron. Strung Out
Strung Out is an American punk rock band from Simi Valley, California, formed in 1989. They are known mainly for their musical style, which fuses aspects of melodic punk rock, progressive rock and heavy metal to form their primary sound. They have released nine studio albums on Fat Wreck Chords as well as one Live album, 2 B-sides collections, a best-of, a box set and appeared on numerous compilations and skate/surf/dirt bike/offroading videos. Shadowfax (band)
Shadowfax was a new-age/electronic musical group formed in Chicago in the early 1970s and best known for their albums '' Shadowfax'' and ''Folksongs for a Nuclear Village''. In 1989, they won the Grammy for Best New Age Performance for ''Folksongs for a Nuclear Village''. In 1993, they were nominated for the Grammy for '' Esperanto''. The group formed in 1972 and disbanded after 1995 when Lyricon player and leader Chuck Greenberg died of a heart attack. Armen John Chakmakian (Western Armenian: Արմէն Չագմագեան; Eastern hy, Արմեն Չաքմաքյան) born (February 11, 1966) in Glendale, California) is an Armenian-American musician, composer, recording artist, and producer. Agent Orange (band)
Agent Orange is an American punk rock band formed in Placentia, California in 1979. The band was one of the first to mix punk rock with surf music. History The power trio's original lineup was Mike Palm on guitar and vocals, Steve Soto on bass, and Scott Miller on drums. They first gained attention for their song "Bloodstains," originally appearing on their self-released debut 7" EP in 1980. A demo version of the song was given to Rodney Bingenheimer, a DJ at Pasadena radio station KROQ-FM, who placed it on his seminal 1980 compilation album, ''Rodney on the ROQ'', on Posh Boy Records. With James Levesque on bass (replacing Soto, who left to form the Adolescents), the group recorded their debut '' Living In Darkness'' album with Brian Elliot, best known for composing Madonna's hit "Papa Don't Preach." The Go-Go's
The Go-Go's are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1978. Except for short periods when other musicians joined briefly, the band has had a relatively stable lineup consisting of Charlotte Caffey on lead guitar and keyboards, Belinda Carlisle on lead vocals, Gina Schock on drums, Kathy Valentine on bass guitar, and Jane Wiedlin on rhythm guitar. They are widely considered the most successful all-female rock band of all time. Jane Wiedlin
Jane Marie Genevieve Wiedlin (born May 20, 1958) is an American musician and singer, best known as the co-founder, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist of the new wave music, new wave band The The Go-Go's, Go-Go's. She has also had a successful solo career. The Go-Go's went on to become one of the most successful American bands of the 1980s, helping popularize new wave music with hits such as "We Got the Beat", "Our Lips Are Sealed", and "Vacation (The Go-Go's song), Vacation".
