Recon (band)
Recon was an American Christian metal band that originated in California in 1987. Background Recon was a Christian metal, Christian power metal band that originated in Los Angeles in 1987. The band has been compared to fellow Christian power metal bands, such as Stryper, Saint (band), Saint and Sacred Warrior. Many of the past members have been in bands such as Vengeance Rising, Deliverance (metal band), Deliverance, Worldview (band), Worldview and Shades of Crimson. The band later became Worldview in 2013, stated by former Recon and Sacred Warrior vocalist Rey Perra along with George Ochoa. George Ochoa
George Ochoa (born April 29, 1962) is an American guitarist that started being active in 1987. History George Ochoa began his musical career with the band Prophet. Ochoa was a part of the band alongside Dion Sanchez and Roger Martinez who would become parts of Recon and Vengeance Rising respectively. Prophet recorded a single demo before changing their name DeRoque. After a brief stint with DeRoque, Ochoa departed. Ochoa began the power metal band, Recon with Rey Parra ( Sacred Warrior). Recon went on for a few years until 1990. Before Recon disbanded, Ochoa joined the thrash metal band, Deliverance. and recorded on the most influential of the Deliverance discography, ''Weapons of Our Warfare'' in 1990 and '' What a Joke'' in 1991. He left the band in 1991 after the recording of ''What a Joke''. Ochoa then went on to perform with Vengeance Rising as a live guitarist in 1992. Cross Rhythms is a Christian media organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent, England. It operates an FM and online radio station, produces radio shows sent internationally, and its website has resources about contemporary Christian music. Vengeance Rising
Vengeance Rising was an American Christian metal, Christian thrash metal band from Los Angeles, California. Fronted by vocalist Roger Martinez, they originally formed as Vengeance in 1987, but changed their name in 1989 to avoid conflict with another band from the Netherlands. Band members Larry Farkas, Doug Thieme, Roger Dale Martin, and Glen Mancaruso left following ''Once Dead'' and formed the band Die Happy (band), Die Happy. Roger Martinez stayed on to record two more studio albums, but aside from him, Vengeance Rising's lineup changed for each subsequent album. While the group was a ground breaking Christian metal band, today Vengeance Rising is known for vocalist Martinez's turning from Christianity to Satanism to atheism.
