Efraín Recinos
Efraín Enrique Recinos Valenzuela (May 15, 1928 – October 2, 2011) was a Guatemalan contemporary architect, muralist, urbanist, painter and sculptor. Recinos' works adorn the facades and interiors of many of Guatemala's landmark buildings, including the National Library of Guatemala. However, he is best known as the architect of the Centro Cultural Miguel Ángel Asturias, which serves as the county's national theater and largest cultural complex, opened in 1978. Recinos designed the large, white structure set on a hill to resemble a jaguar, using inspiration from more traditional Mayan motifs. The government considers the theater as a National Heritage site. Additionally, Recinos also painted the murals located in the Guatemalan National Music Conservatory. Adrián Recinos
Adrián Recinos (1886–1962) was a Guatemalan historian, essayist, Mayanist scholar and translator, and diplomat. Recinos was a student of national history, especially the Maya civilization and the ancient history of the K'iche' and Kaqchikel people. He published the first Spanish edition of Popol Vuh, based on his translation of the manuscript found in the Newberry Library, Chicago. He also published his translations of other ancient Mayan manuscripts, including the ''Anales de los Cakchiqueles''. Carlos Humberto Recinos Ortíz (born 30 June 1950) is a retired football player from El Salvador. Playing years Club career Nicknamed ''Imacasa'' after the company he worked for, Recinos began his professional football career at FAS where he stayed for sixteen years. He won three domestic titles with FAS (1977–78, 1978–79, 1981) and helped them capture their first and so far only international title when they won the CONCACAF Champions' Cup in 1979. After his contract with FAS ended in 1982, he spent two years on the sidelines following an injury before signing with UES for one year in 1984. Cándido Amador Recinos
Cándido Amador Recinos (1958 – April 12, 1997) was a Honduran political activist and Ch'orti' indigenous leader. He was General Secretary of the ''General Council of Assessment for the Development of Indigenous Groups'' (in Spanish the ''Comité de Asesoramiento de las Etnias Autóctonas de Honduras'') and had spent many years fighting to recover lost lands and for the legal possession of Ch'orti' lands for the Ch'orti' people. He was murdered by unknown assailants and left by the side of a road with determined as from a brain injury. Days earlier he had informed colleagues about death threats.
