''Rebirth'' is the second full-length studio album released by Japanese solo artist Gackt on April 25, 2001. It is conceptually linked to its successor '' Re:born'' from 2009. Release The album was released on April 25, 2001, by Nippon Crown. In the initial counting week of May it reached number three on the Oricon charts, with sales of 108,390 copies. In the upcoming week, it was at the number fifteen, with sales of 25,910 copies. It charted for 21 weeks. In 2001, with sales of 214,220 copies, it was the 100th best selling album of the year. Preceding the album release, were released three singles, "Seki-Ray", " Secret Garden" and "Kimi no Tame ni Dekiru Koto". Gackt
, better known by his mononymous stage name Gackt (stylized as GACKT), is a Japanese musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor. Born in Okinawa, Japan, to a Ryukyuan family, Gackt learned the piano at a young age and was raised on classical music and enka before becoming interested in rock music while attending high school. He has been active since 1993, first as the frontman of the short-lived independent band Cains:Feel, and then for the now-defunct visual kei rock band Malice Mizer, before starting his solo career in 1999. He has released nine studio albums and, with forty-eight singles released, holds the male soloist record for most top ten consecutive singles in Japanese music history. Chachamaru (musician)
, is a Japanese guitarist, singer-songwriter, arranger and producer. Usually referred to by his stage name "Chachamaru", little is known about his early years and personal life. Besides being a member and collaborator with various bands and musical acts in the 80s and 90s, he is most known as being the lead guitarist and associate music producer for Gackt. He was a student at the Bukkyo University, a private university with a philosophy based on Pure Land Buddhism. Masa is a Japanese musician who was a member of GacktJOB, Gackt's band. He has also been in the disbanded ''Spiky'', ''Dizzy Drive'' and ''Marmarsa☆mu (マァマァサ☆ムゥ)''. Biography Masa was born on the 30th of September in Kyoto, year unknown. After graduating from a , he went to the U.S.A. alone and took the TOEFL after one year. He then studied music at a university for three years. He learned the English language while living in New York for four years. A day after he graduated from the university, he returned home.
