Rebelline
Rebelline (foaled 29 April 1998) was an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse and broodmare. She won six of her eleven races in a racing career which lasted from October 2000 until May 2002. As a juvenile she won on her debut and then finished second to Vinnie Roe in the Eyrefield Stakes. In the following year she won the Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial and the Pretty Polly Stakes (Ireland), Pretty Polly Stakes as well as finishing third in the Prix de l'Opéra. She reached her peak as a four-year-old in 2002 when she was undefeated in three starts, taking the Gladness Stakes, Mooresbridge Stakes and Tattersalls Gold Cup. After her retirement from racing she had considerable success as a dam of winners. Background Rebelline is a bay mare with no white markings bred in Ireland by Peter Tellwright of the British-based Tyrley Castle Stud. Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial
The Leopardstown 1,000 Guineas Trial Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in Ireland open to three-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run over a distance of 7 furlongs (1,408 metres) at Leopardstown in March or April. History The event used to be staged at Phoenix Park under the title 1,000 Guineas Trial. For a period it held Group 3 status. It was downgraded to Listed level in 1987. The 1,000 Guineas Trial was transferred to Leopardstown in 1991. It regained Group 3 status in 2005. The Tattersalls Gold Cup is a Group 1 flat horse race in Ireland open to thoroughbreds aged four years or older. Chryss Goulandris, Lady O'Reilly (born 27 June 1950), also known as Chryssanthie (from the Greek) or Christina, is one of the richest women associated with Ireland, and holds both USA and Greek citizenship. Rainbow Quest (1981–2007) was an American-bred, British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and Champion broodmare sire. Background Rainbow Quest was a bay horse with two white socks and a small white star bred in Kentucky by British businessman, Alan Clore. He was sired by Blushing Groom out of the mare I Will Follow. Mister Baileys
Mister Baileys (1991–2009) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In a career that lasted from June 1993 to July 1994 he ran nine times and won four races. After winning the Vintage Stakes and the Royal Lodge Stakes as a two-year-old, he became the first Northern-trained Classic winner for seventeen years when he won the 2000 Guineas in record time on his three-year-old debut. After three further races he was retired to stud, but failed to make an impression as a sire of winners after his health was badly affected by an attack of grass sickness. He was eventually gelded in 2003 and died in 2009. Background Mister Baileys was a bay horse with a prominent white blaze and three white feet, bred by Ranston Ltd. Vinnie Roe
Vinnie Roe is a retired Irish Thoroughbred racehorse and active sire. He won the Irish St. Leger for four years in succession (2001–2004) and was named European Champion Stayer in the Cartier Racing Awards for 2002. He also became known internationally for his three attempts to win the Melbourne Cup in which he finished fourth, second and eighth. He was officially rated the best stayer in the world on three occasions (2002, 2003, 2004). He was retired from racing in 2005 and is currently at stud in Templemore Co.
