Rebekah (DJ)
Rebekah Teasdale (2 January 1980) is a British DJ and dance music producer, known professionally as DJ Rebekah. She runs the Decoy and Elements labels, and produces and deejays industrial techno. Early life Rebekah Teasdale grew up in Birmingham, going to techno parties at the Que Club and studying music production at Access Creative College. She also worked as a glamour model. Career DJ Rebekah started to play records professionally whilst in her twenties, signing up with Judge Jules' agency Serious. She moved to London and then Berlin, making a name as a DJ for playing industrial techno sets. She met Chris Liebing and was released on his CLR label. She has released tracks on labels such as EarToGround, Gynoid Audio, Naked Lunch, Sleaze and Stolen Moments. Industrial Techno
Industrial techno is a subgenre of techno and industrial dance music that originated in the 1990s. Characteristically, it incorporates influences from the bleak, noisy sound and aesthetics of early industrial music acts, particularly Cabaret Voltaire and Throbbing Gristle. American industrial music label Wax Trax! also had a profound influence over the genre's development. The genre has seen a resurgence in the 2010s, spearheaded by acts such as Adam X, Orphx, and Ancient Methods, and others later like Blawan and Karenn. As a result, it has gained a significant fanbase from the post-dubstep audience. It is not to be mistaken with Techno Industrial, which is in essence similar to the power noise/rhythmic noise subgenre. Que Club
The Que Club was a music venue in Birmingham, England that was famous for hosting many well-known bands and club nights. As well as hosting famous acts, the Que Club became a centre for alternative culture, including the rave music scene. The Que Club was located in the Grade II-listed Methodist Central Hall in Birmingham. The venue was opened in 1989 after the building was purchased by Rod Stewart's former manager Billy Gaff. Artists performing at the venue included Altern8, Blur, David Bowie, Carl Cox, The Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Massive Attack and Run-DMC. Access to Music (noAccess Creative College was a UK-based independent training provider which specialised in industry-focused popular music and creative education. It operated across England with dedicated music colleges in Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Darlington, Great Yarmouth, Lincoln, London, Manchester, Norwich, and York. Its head office was in Birmingham. Julius O'Riordan (born 1966), better known by his stage name Judge Jules, is a British dance music DJ, record producer and entertainment lawyer. He is known for his DJ activities, music production and long-running radio show which achieved global success. He was voted best DJ in the world by ''DJ Mag'' in 1995. Derrick May (born April 6, 1963), also known as Mayday and Is , is an American electronic musician from Belleville, Michigan, United States. May is credited with pioneering techno music in the 1980s along with collaborators Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, commonly known as The Belleville Three.
