Rebecca Hudson
Rebecca Emma Gisela Hudson (born 13 June 1979 in Doncaster, England) is an English professional golfer who plays on the Ladies European Tour. Amateur career Hudson had a very successful junior and amateur career. She was Yorkshire Girls Champion in 1994, Yorkshire Champion 1995,1997 and 1998, English Girls Champion in 1995 and 1996 and won the Daily Telegraph Junior Golfer of the Year Award in 1994, 1995 and 1997. She also won the Joyce Wethered Award for the young player making the best effort at combining top level golf with education. She was 1997 French under-21 champion, 2000 Spanish Ladies Amateur champion, 2000 Scottish strokeplay champion, 2000 English Women's Strokeplay champion, 2000 and 2002 British Ladies Amateur champion, 2000 British Amateur strokeplay champion and 2000 English strokeplay champion. Doncaster
Doncaster (, ) is a city in South Yorkshire, England. Named after the River Don, it is the administrative centre of the larger City of Doncaster. 2006 Ladies European Tour
The 2006 Ladies European Tour was a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world which took place from January through October 2006. The tournaments were sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET). The tour featured 21 events with prize money totalling more than €10.6 million. The 32nd Curtis Cup Match was played on August 3 and 4, 2002 at Fox Chapel Golf Club near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The United States won 11 to 7. Format The contest was a two-day competition, with three foursomes and six singles matches on each day, a total of 18 points. Each of the 18 matches was worth one point in the larger team competition. If a match was all square after the 18th hole extra holes were not played. Vagliano Trophy
The Vagliano Trophy is a biennial women's amateur golf tournament. It is co-organised by The R&A and the European Golf Association and is contested by teams representing "Great Britain and Ireland" and the "Continent of Europe". It is played in odd-numbered years; the Curtis Cup being played in even-numbered years. The event started in 1931 as a match between Great Britain and France. It was played annually from 1931 to 1939 and from 1947 to 1949, before becoming a biennial event from 1949 to 1957. Britain won 15 of the 16 matches with the 1934 match being tied. From 1949 to 1957 Great Britain had also played a biennial match against Belgium. In 1959 the two matches were replaced by one with Britain playing a team representing the Continent of Europe, the Vagliano Trophy being used for the new event. The 1997 European Ladies' Team Championship took place 9–13 July at Nordcenter Golf & Country Club in Åminnefors, Finland. It was the 20th women's golf amateur European Ladies' Team Championship. Venue The hosting club was founded in 1988. Its first course, the Fream course, situated in Åminnefors, close to Pohja in the province of Southern Finland and part of the Uusimaa region, 70 kilometres west of Helsinki, Finland, was designed by architect Ronald Fream. European Ladies' Team Championship
The European Ladies' Team Championship is a European amateur team golf championship for women organised by the European Golf Association. The inaugural event was held in 1959. It was played in odd-numbered years from 1959 to 2007 and has been played annually since 2008 (with the exception of 2012). Format Currently, the championship is contested by up to 20 teams, each of 6 players. The format consists of two rounds of strokeplay, out of which the five lowest scores from each team's six players will count each day. The total addition of the five lowest scores will constitute the team's score and determine the teams qualified for the last three rounds of matchplay.
