''Reality and Fantasy'' is the second studio album by Italian jazz singer Raphael Gualazzi, composed, produced and arranged by Gualazzi himself, it was released in Italy on February 16, 2011 on Sugar Music. Background The album features guest artists such as Italian trumpeter Fabrizio Bosso, Ferdinando Arnò, who co-produced the lead single "Follia d'amore", Vince Mendoza, James F. Reynolds, Pete Glenister and French DJ Gilles Peterson. As of June 2012, the album had sold more than 100,000 copies and it was certified platinum by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry. In October 2011, a special edition of the album was released in Italy, including bonus tracks and an additional DVD featuring the "Live Documentary", recorded on June 24, 2011 during Gualazzi's concert at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. Raffaele Gualazzi (born 11 November 1981), better known as Raphael Gualazzi, is an Italian singer and pianist. He was born in Urbino. Biography ''Love Outside the Window'' On 16 September 2005, Gualazzi released his first studio album, titled '' Love Outside the Window'' and distributed by Edel Music. In 2008, Gualazzi recorded a cover of "Georgia on My Mind" for the compilation ''Piano Jazz'', released in France by Wagram Music. Sanremo Festival 2011 In September 2010 he released a self-titled digital EP in Italy and Europe. Juan Tizol
Juan Tizol Martínez (22 January 1900 – 23 April 1984) was a Puerto Rican jazz trombonist and composer. He is best known as a member of Duke Ellington's big band, and as the writer of the jazz standards " Caravan", "Pyramid", and " Perdido". Biography Tizol was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. Music was a large part of his life from an early age. His first instrument was the violin, but he soon switched to valve trombone, the instrument he played throughout his career. His musical training came mostly from his uncle Manuel Tizol, who was the director of the municipal band and the symphony in San Juan. Throughout his youth, Tizol played in his uncle's band and also gained experience by playing in local operas, ballets and dance bands. Irving Harold Mills (born Isadore Minsky; January 16, 1894 – April 21, 1985) was an American music publisher, musician, lyricist, and jazz artist promoter. He sometimes used the pseudonyms Goody Goodwin and Joe Primrose. Personal Mills was born to a Jewish family in Odessa, Russian Empire, although some biographies state that he was born on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York City. His father, Hyman Minsky (1868–1905), was a hat maker who had immigrated from Odessa to the United States with his wife Sofia ''(née'' Sophia Dudis; born 1870). Hyman died in 1905, forcing Irving and his brother, Jacob ''(aka'' "Jack"; 1891–1979), to work odd jobs including bussing at restaurants, selling wallpaper, and working in the garment industry. "Caravan" is an American jazz standard that was composed by Juan Tizol and Duke Ellington and first performed by Ellington in 1936. Irving Mills wrote lyrics, but they are rarely sung. The sad sound of "Caravan" interested exotica musicians; Martin Denny, Arthur Lyman, and Gordon Jenkins all covered it. Woody Allen used the song in two of his films, '' Alice'' and ''Sweet and Lowdown''. Steven Soderbergh used the Lyman version in his 2001 film ''Ocean's Eleven''. The song appears often in the 2014 film ''Whiplash'' as an important plot element. The Mills Brothers recorded an a cappella version in which they imitated instruments with their voices. Fio Zanotti (born Fiorenzo Zanotti on 20 November 1949) is an Italian record producer, arranger, conductor, composer and multiinstrumentalist. Born in Bologna, Zanotti graduated from the conservatory of his hometown as a conductor.
