Real Sociedad De Zacatecas
Real Sociedad de Zacatecas was a Mexican football team from Zacatecas, México. That played for 7 years in the Ascenso MX History Real Sociedad Deportiva de Zacatecas was founded in 1996 by the Mexican beer brewery Modelo. In 1997 the club would reach its first final against Pachuca FC which the club would go on to lose. The club never played in the first division and in 2003 the club folded due to lack of the owners and the governor of Zacatecas fail to come up with a new contract. In 2014 the second division returnes to Zacatecas with the new Franchise of Mineros de Zacatecas which is considered the successor of La Real. Estadio Francisco Villa
Estadio Carlos Vega Villalba, formerly known as the Estadio Francisco Villa is a multi-use stadium in Zacatecas, Zacatecas, Mexico. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium for the new Ascenso MX side Mineros de Zacatecas. The stadium has a capacity of 20,068 people. History The stadium was opened in 1986 with a game between the Leones Negros UdeG and the South Korea National Team. Leones win 1–0, the next day, Zacatecas State team defeated another time the Asians. This stadium was originally part of a project to give Zacatecas city a multi-purpose stadium, also a Sports Complex and other venues. Zacatecas (Zacatecas)
Zacatecas () is the principal city within the municipality in Mexico of the same name, and the capital and the largest city of the state of Zacatecas. Located in north-central Mexico, the city had its start as a Spanish mining camp in the mid-16th century. Native Americans had already known about the area's rich deposits of silver and other minerals. Due to the wealth that the mines provided, Zacatecas quickly became one of the most important mining cities in New Spain. The area saw battles during the turbulent 19th century, but the next major event was the Battle of Zacatecas during the Mexican Revolution when Francisco Villa captured the town, an event still celebrated every anniversary. Ascenso MX
Ascenso MX was the second tier of professional football in Mexico of the Mexican football league system. The champion of the competition was promoted to Liga MX (top-flight tier). The bottom team was relegated to Liga Premier (the third tier). It was sponsored by BBVA through its Mexican subsidiary BBVA, and was officially known as Ascenso BBVA MX. Formerly known as Primera División A (First Division A) the league rebranded in 2009 its name and competition format to Liga de Ascenso. It was rebranded in 2012 as Ascenso MX. Club de Fútbol Pachuca is a Mexican professional football team based in Pachuca, Hidalgo, that competes in Liga MX. Club Deportivo Mineros de Zacatecas is a Mexican football club from Zacatecas that compete in the Mexican Liga de Expansión MX. They are currently managed by Omar Alexis Moreno. History In December 2012, Grupo Pachuca purchased the Estudiantes Tecos franchise as they were relegated to the Ascenso MX. The team failed to gain promotion when they lost in penalties to Leones Negros de la U. de G. It was then that Grupo Pachuca decided to move the franchise from Zapopan to Zacatecas so as to not have four teams in Guadalajara.
