Avilés
Avilés (; ) is a town in Asturias, Spain. Avilés is, along with Oviedo and Gijón, one of the main cities in the Principality of Asturias. The town occupies the flattest land in the municipality, partially in a land that belonged to the sea, surrounded by small promontories, all of them having an altitude of less than 140 metres. Situated in the Avilés estuary, in the Northern Central area of the Asturian coast, west of Peñas Cape, is its national seaport. Avilés is mainly an industrial city. Real Avilés Club de Fútbol is a Spanish football team based in Avilés, in the autonomous community of Asturias. Founded in 1903 it plays in Segunda División RFEF – Group 1, holding home matches at Estadio Román Suárez Puerta, with an approximate capacity of 5,400 seats. History First years Avilés was founded in 1903 under the name Sport Club Avilesino, hence being considered the oldest football club in Asturias. In 1906 he joins the Sociedad Obrera Industrial as their football section with the name of CÃrculo Industrial y de Sport de Avilés, but a few years later, the players and managers of the football team decide to become independent again, this time with the name of Stadium Club Avilesino. In 1925 Stadium obtained the royal crown from Alfonso XIII, being renamed Real Stadium Club Avilesino. The 2014–15 Tercera División was the fourth tier of football in Spain. Play started in August 2014 and ended in June 2015 with the promotion play-off finals. In sports, a reserve team is a team composed of players under contract to a club but who do not normally play in matches for the first team. Reserve teams often include back-up players from the first team, young players who need playing time to improve their skills, as well as members of the first team recovering from injury.
