Real-time Programming Language
Real-time Programming Language (RPL) is a compiled database programming language used on CMC/Microdata/McDonnell Douglas REALITY databases, derived and expanded from the PROC procedure language, with much extra functionality added. It was originally developed under the name "PORC" by John Timmons and Paul Desjardins in about 1975. "PORC" was then further developed by Tim Holland under the employ of George Ridgway's company Systems Management, Inc. (SMI) in Chicago. Microdata Corporation
Microdata Corporation was an American minicomputer company which created the Reality product line featuring the Pick operating system. In its history, Microdata * was taken over by its international distributor CMC Leasings (December 1969), * which in turn was taken over in 1983 by McDonnell Douglas Corporation (March 1983), * that division was spun off as McDonnell Douglas Information Systems (1993) * which became part of Northgate Information Solutions (April 2000). * which was acquired by NEC in 2018 and rebranded to NEC Software Solutions UK in 2021. The company was initially formed as a hardware company. McDonnell Douglas

Plessey
The Plessey Company plc was a British electronics, defence and telecommunications company. It originated in 1917, growing and diversifying into electronics. It expanded after World War II by acquisition of companies and formed overseas companies. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange and was a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. In 1989, it was taken over by a consortium formed by GEC and Siemens which split the assets of the Plessey group. The majority of Plessey's defence assets were amalgamated into BAE Systems in 1999 when British Aerospace merged with the defence arm of GEC, Marconi Electronic Systems (MES).
