John Reade
John Reade (November 13, 1837 – March 26, 1919) was an Irish-born Canadian journalist, essayist, and poet once considered "the grand old man of Canadian letters." Shanaze Danielle Reade (born 23 September 1988 in Crewe, Cheshire, United Kingdom) is a British former bicycle motocross (BMX) racer and track cyclist whose prime competitive years began in 2002. She has won the UCI BMX World Championships three times. Reade is the daughter of a Jamaican father and an Irish mother. Early years Reade was primarily raised by her grandparents after her mother gave birth to her at the age of 17. She has credited her grandfather with giving her the self-confidence to achieve success in her cycling career. Reade began racing in 1998 at the age of 10, at Tipkinder Park in Crewe. A local track operator named Bob Field, whose son also raced at the time, became her mentor. Sir Richard Reade (1511–1576) was an English-born judge in sixteenth-century Ireland, who held the office of Lord Chancellor of Ireland. Reade Baronets
There have been two baronetcies created for members of the Reade (or Read) family, both in the Baronetage of England. Both creations are now extinct. The Reade Baronetcy, of Brocket Hall in the County of Hertford, was created in the Baronetage of England on 16 March 1642 for John Reade. The title became extinct on the death of the third Baronet in 1712. The Reade Baronetcy, of Barton in the County of Berkshire (now Oxfordshire), was created in the Baronetage of England on 4 March 1661 for Compton Reade. He was the nephew of the first Baronet of the 1642 creation. The fourth Baronet sat as Member of Parliament for Cricklade. Lieutenant-General George Reade, fourth son of the second Baronet, was Member of Parliament for Tewkesbury. The title became extinct on the death of the thirteenth baronet in 2012. Pauline Reade
The Moors murders were carried out by Ian Brady and Myra Hindley between July 1963 and October 1965, in and around Manchester, England. The victims were five children—Pauline Reade, John Kilbride, Keith Bennett, Lesley Ann Downey, and Edward Evans—aged between 10 and 17, at least four of whom were Sexual assault, sexually assaulted. The bodies of two of the victims were discovered in 1965, in graves dug on Saddleworth Moor; a third grave was discovered there in 1987, more than twenty years after Brady and Hindley's trial. Bennett's body is also thought to be buried there, but despite repeated searches it remains undiscovered. The pair were charged only for the murders of Kilbride, Downey and Evans, and received life imprisonment, life sentences under a whole life tariff. Paul Reade
Paul Geoffrey Reade (10 January 1943 – 7 June 1997) was an English composer. Born in Lancashire, he studied at the Royal Academy of Music and worked at English National Opera as a ''répétiteur''. In 1991 he received an Ivor Novello Award for his theme music for ''The Victorian Kitchen Garden'' television series. Career Reade was active as a composer for television, with credits including the series ''The Victorian Kitchen Garden'' (published in various arrangements, this music continues to be played in recitals and music examinations) and '' Jane Eyre (1983 TV serial)''.
