''Reach for the Sun'' is the debut studio album by American alternative rock band The Dangerous Summer. Background On November 19, 2008, it was mentioned that the band had started recording their debut album at Valencia Studios with producer Paul Leavitt. Release In January 2009, the band went on tour with School Boy Humor and Select Start. On February 6, ''Reach for the Sun'' was announced for release in May, and its track listing was revealed. On March 4, "Surfaced" was made available for streaming through the band's Myspace profile. On March 27, it was revealed that the album would be titled ''Reach for the Sun''. The Dangerous Summer is an American rock band from Ellicott City, Maryland, United States. The band's name is taken from the book of the same name by Ernest Hemingway. The band has stated influences from Third Eye Blind, Bright Eyes, U2, Phil Collins, Explosions in the Sky, Jimmy Eat World, and Andrew McMahon. Over the years the band has sold over 60,000 albums and over 300,000 singles. History The band formed in Ellicott City, Maryland, United States in the summer of 2006 to write their first EP, ''There Is No Such Thing as Science'', which drew the attention of Hopeless Records and other labels in 2007. Sparks the Rescue is an American rock band from Maine. They formed when members of three high school bands, Pozer, Short of April, and Two Girls Later, converged. Their debut EP, ''Stumbling Skyward,'' was released independently in 2005 with McAllister and O'Connell sharing main vocal duties. The band released the ''Hey, Mr. Allure'' EP in 2006, which saw the addition of lead vocalist Alex Roy. On February 6, 2007, Sparks the Rescue released their junior EP, ''The Secrets We Can't Keep,'' after signing to Double Blind Music. This release saw the departure of their keyboardist. Person L is an American rock band fronted by Kenny Vasoli, of the pop punk band The Starting Line. Vasoli is the band's lead singer and guitarist and formed Person L in winter 2006 as an outlet to explore other musical styles. The group also consists of drummers Brian Medlin and Ryan Zimmaro (previously of the band The Prize Fight), bassist Charles Schneider (previously of the band The Suicide Pact) with keyboardist and guitarist Nate Vaeth. History Person L was founded by the Starting Line vocalist/bassist Kenny Vasoli in winter 2006.
