"Re-Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo Selecta)" is a song by English garage duo Artful Dodger, featuring Craig David on vocals. Released in the United Kingdom on 29 November 1999, the song reached number two, giving both Artful Dodger and David their first chart hit. In his dean's list for the annual Pazz & Jop critics' poll, Robert Christgau of ''The Village Voice'' named "Re-Rewind" the fifth-best single of the year. Background The melody in the verses was lifted from an older Craig David demo called "Last Night", which was re-recorded for his debut studio album, ''Born to Do It''. A slightly different version of the song, simply titled "Rewind", was featured on ''Born to Do It'' and was credited solely to Craig David and contained no vocals but David's. Artful Dodger are a UK garage duo, originally based in the city Southampton, which became famous for its 2-step garage, 2-step hits and inaugurated Craig David's professional musical career with his appearance on their 1999 number-two hit "Re-Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo Selecta), Re-Rewind". They scored seven consecutive UK top-20 hit singles from 1999 to 2001. The band is named after Artful Dodger, a character in the Charles Dickens novel ''Oliver Twist'', because of the many bootlegs they made in the early days. The song features Romina Johnson and was included on the duo's debut studio album, ''It's All About the Stragglers'' (2000). Mark Leslie Hill (born 22 December 1972 in Cwmbran, Wales) is a Welsh musician, songwriter and record producer. UK Garage
UK garage, abbreviated as UKG, is a genre of electronic dance music which originated in England in the early to mid-1990s. The genre was most clearly inspired by garage house, but also incorporates elements from dance-pop, R&B, and jungle. It is defined by percussive, shuffled rhythms with syncopated hi-hats, cymbals, and snares, and may include either 4/4 house kick patterns or more irregular " 2-step" rhythms. Garage tracks also commonly feature 'chopped up' and time-stretched or pitch-shifted vocal samples complementing the underlying rhythmic structure at a tempo usually around 130 BPM. Relentless Records is a British boutique and independent record label currently headed by co-founder Shabs Jobanputra. Originally known for UK garage singles such as Artful Dodger's " Re-Rewind" and B-15 Project's " Girls Like Us", Relentless has also published albums by Joss Stone, KT Tunstall, Union of Knives and Cage the Elephant. Ownership Relentless Records was formally registered as a company on 1 December 1999. After first working with Virgin Records in 2003, the label was sold to it in 2009 (when Virgin was at that time a label of EMI Records). "Fill Me In" is the debut solo single of British singer Craig David. It was released on 3 April 2000 as the lead single from his debut studio album, '' Born to Do It'' (2000). The song debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart on 9 April 2000. "Fill Me In" was then released in the United States on 22 May 2001 and peaked at number 15 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100.
