Raül Garrigasait
Raül Garrigasait i Colomés ( Solsona, 1979) is a Catalan translator from Greek and German to Catalan language. His first book was an essay on classical erudition. His first novel, ''Els estranys'', won the 2017 Catalan booksellers' Prize and the 2017 Òmnium Prize. He has translated works by Plato, Goethe, Alexandros Papadiamandis, Joseph Roth, and Peter Sloterdijk Peter Sloterdijk (; ; born 26 June 1947) is a German philosopher and cultural theorist. He is a professor of philosophy and media theory at the University of Art and Design Karlsruhe. He co-hosted the German television show ''Im Glashaus: Das Phi ..., among other writers, and presently heads La Casa dels Clàssics (House of the Classics), a project initiated by the Bernat Metge Collection with the aim of promoting the creation, thought and dissemination of universal classics in the Catalan language. Alexandros Papadiamantis
Alexandros Papadiamantis ( el, Ἀλέξανδρος Παπαδιαμάντης; 4 March 1851 – 3 January 1911) was an influential Greece, Greek novelist, short-story writer and poet. Biography Papadiamantis was born in Greece, on the island of Skiathos, in the western part of the Aegean Sea. The island would figure prominently in his work. His father was a priest. He moved to Athens as a young man to complete his high school studies, and enrolled at the School of Philosophy of the University of Athens, but never completed his studies. This happened because he had economic difficulties, and had to find a job to make a living. He returned to his native island in later life, and died there. He supported himself by writing throughout his adult life, anything from journalism and short stories to several serialized novels. Edicions de 1984 is an independent publishing house in Catalonia specialized in up-market literature which was founded in 1984 by Josep Cots as an homage to George Orwell. Josep Cots, the current director and editor-in-chief, and his team have been building up the company’s catalogue which includes some of the most important authors of all times. Peter Sloterdijk
Peter Sloterdijk (; ; born 26 June 1947) is a German philosopher and cultural theorist. He is a professor of philosophy and media theory at the University of Art and Design Karlsruhe. He co-hosted the German television show ''Im Glashaus: Das Philosophische Quartett'' from 2002 until 2012. Biography Sloterdijk's father was Dutch, his mother German. He studied philosophy, German studies and history at the University of Munich and the University of Hamburg from 1968 to 1974. In 1975 he received his PhD from the University of Hamburg. In the 1980s he worked as a freelance writer, and published his '' Kritik der zynischen Vernunft'' in 1983. He has since published a number of philosophical works acclaimed in Germany. In 2001 he was named chancellor of the University of Art and Design Karlsruhe, part of the Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe. Solsona, Lleida
Solsona is a Municipalities of Spain, municipality and capital of the Comarques of Catalonia, ''comarca'' of the Solsonès in the province of Lleida, Catalonia, Spain. It is situated in the centre of the ''comarca'' in the Catalan Central Depression. It is served by the C-55 road to Manresa, and is linked to Berga and Bassella by the C-26.
