Raúl Pérez (rugby Union)
Raúl Norberto Pérez (born Rosario 2 July 1965) is an Argentine rugby union former player and coach of the Argentine Super Rugby side, the . He is currently the head coach of Paraguay national rugby union team (Los Yakares). He played as a flanker. He worked as a systems analyst and programmer. He played for Duendes Rugby Club his entire career, from 1983/84 to 1999/2000. Pérez had 21 caps for Argentina, from 1992 to 1999, scoring 1 try, 5 points in aggregate. He was selected for the 1999 Rugby World Cup but never played. Coaching After finishing his playing days, he became the coach of Duendes, from 2001/02 to 2004/05. He later also would be the coach of the Rosario Rugby Union U-23 team, from 2005 to 2007, of Argentina U-21, from 2007 to 2008, and since 2009, he is one of the two coaches of the Argentina A. Flanker (rugby Union)
Flanker is a position in the sport of rugby union. Each team of 15 players includes two flankers, who play in the Forwards (rugby union), forwards, and are generally classified as either List of rugby union terms#B, blindside or List of rugby union terms#O, openside flankers, numbers 6 and 7 respectively. The name comes from their position in a Scrum (rugby union), scrum in which they 'flank' each set of forwards. They compete for the ball – most commonly in Playing rugby union#Ruck, rucks and Playing rugby union#Maul, mauls. Flankers also assist in pushing in a scrum, but are expected to detach from the scrum as soon as the ball is out to get to the play before the opposition's forwards. Daniel Hourcade
Daniel Hourcade (born San Miguel de Tucumán, 1958) is an Argentine rugby union coach and former player. He has coached at various levels of the game, at both club and international level. He has coached in Argentina, France and Portugal, and was head coach of the Argentine national team having come through the ranks with the sevens national team, Argentina Jaguars and Pampas XV. Career He had a brief player career at the Universitario Rugby Club de Tucumán. He began his coaching career in 1993 where he worked up the coaching ranks in the Universitario Rugby Club de Tucumán side. This included a three-year tenure as the head coach of the Senior side. He left the Tucumán side to become head coach of the Argentina Under-21 side before being named head coach of the Argentina sevens side between 2001 and 2004. Argentina XV, formerly known as the Jaguares, are the second national rugby union team in Argentina, after the full national side, the Pumas. Overview They already represented Argentina at the South American Rugby Championship, in 2001, 2002, 2005, 2009 and 2011. Argentina second side won all the South American competitions they have entered and never were defeated yet by another country in these tournaments. Duendes Rugby Club
Duendes Rugby Club is an Argentine rugby union and field hockey club sited in Rosario, Santa Fe. The rugby team currently plays at Torneo del Litoral, the first division of the Unión de Rugby de Rosario (URR) league system. History Duendes Rugby Club was founded in 1957 and registered with the Rosario Union that same year. After just one season the club won the promotion to the top division of the URR league system and won its first title in 1960. Along with Atlético del Rosario and Jockey Club, Duendes is one of the most successful clubs in its city of origin, having won the Unión de Rugby de Rosario championship 15 times. The 1999 Rugby World Cup was the fourth Rugby World Cup, the quadrennial international rugby union championship. It was principally hosted by Wales, and was won by Australia. This was the first Rugby World Cup to be held in the sport's professional era. Although the majority of matches were played outside Wales (shared between England, France, Scotland and Ireland) the opening ceremony, the first match and the final were held in Cardiff.
