Razors On Backstreet
Razors on Backstreet (stylized as RAZORS ON BACKSTREET) is the third studio album by Japanese Darkwave band, Aural Vampire. The album was released December 7, 2013 in Japan and internationally on March 7, 2014. Overview Release Musical style The album features a much heavier, rock-influenced style of music. The album is the first to feature new band members; Wu-Chy on bass, Higuchuuhei on guitar, Zen on keyboard, and Izu on drums. Previous releases (with the exception of " Soloween") featured only lead-vocalist Exo-Chika and producer Raveman. Artwork and theme The album has an 1980s horror theme. Aural Vampire
is a Japanese group (formerly duo) led by EXO-CHIKA (vocals/lyrics) and RAVEMAN (music) from Tokyo, Japan. History EXO-CHIKA and RAVEMAN met at high school, where they experimented with writing songs. They recorded several tapes together, eventually performing as a duo alongside their friends' hardcore band. After this first performance, they began to perform live shows and record tapes under the name ''Aural Vampire''. Aural Vampire released an indie album '' Vampire Ecstasy'' in 2004 and a single called ''Death Folder'' in 2005 that was made available to download online. In 2008, the band announced they had been signed to the label Avex Trax and, at the end of the year, they released a set of three self-titled EPs on iTunes. Synthpop
Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a subgenre of new wave music that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. Gothic Rock
Gothic rock (also called goth rock or simply goth) is a style of rock music that emerged from post-punk in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s. The first post-punk bands which shifted toward dark music with gothic overtones include Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Bauhaus, and the Cure. The genre itself was defined as a separate movement from post-punk. Gothic rock stood out due to its darker sound, with the use of primarily minor or bass chords, reverb, dark arrangements, or dramatic and melancholic melodies, having inspirations in gothic literature allied with themes such as sadness, nihilism, dark romanticism, tragedy, melancholy and morbidity.
