Raymond Lefèvre
Raymond Lefèvre (20 November 1929 – 27 June 2008) was a French easy listening orchestra leader, arranger and composer. Biography and career Born on 20 November 1929 in Calais, France, Raymond Lefèvre is best known for his interpretation of the 1968 theme "Soul Coaxing (Ame Caline)" (composed by Michel Polnareff), which became an international hit. He also wrote soundtracks for movies with Louis de Funès such as ''La Soupe Aux Choux'' (1981) or the series ''Le Gendarme de Saint Tropez''. During the late 1950s and early 1960s, he accompanied Dalida on most of her recordings (''Bambino'', ''Por Favor'', ''Tu peux tout faire de moi'', ''Quand on n'a que l'amour''), amongst many others. "Soul Coaxing" or , written in 1967 by French singer/songwriter Michel Polnareff, provided Raymond Lefèvre and His Orchestra with a 1968 instrumental hit. Chart performance Released in the States in January 1968, "Soul Coaxing" peaked at No. 4 on the Easy Listening chart and at No. 37 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, in April, near the end of its 12-week run - though it reached the Top Ten in Boston, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Columbus and other markets. "Soul Coaxing" debuted on ''Billboard''s Hot 100 during the five-week run at No. 1 of the instrumental smash hit " Love Is Blue (L'Amour Est Bleu)" by Paul Mauriat and His Orchestra. Raymond Lefebvre
Raymond-Louis Lefebvre (24 April 1891, Vire – presumed date of death 1 October 1920) was a French writer and political activist. He attended the 2nd World Congress of the Comintern from 19 July to 7 August 1920, but along with two other French delegates disappeared in the Barents Sea whilst returning.John Riddell (editor and translator), ''Workers of the World and Oppressed Peoples, Unite!: Proceedings and Documents of the Second Congress, 1920'' (p. 7). María de los Ángeles Felisa Santamaría Espinosa (born 2 August 1947), professionally known as Massiel, is a Spanish pop singer. "The Day the Rains Came" or "Am Tag als der Regen kam" or "La pioggia cadrà" is an adaptation of the French song "Le jour où la pluie viendra". The latter is a Popular music, popular song released in 1957, composed and written by Gilbert Bécaud and Pierre Delanoë. Bécaud's version reached #3 in Wallonia, in a tandem ranking, and #20 in Flanders. In the United Kingdom, an English version by Jane Morgan went to number one in 1958. Richard Anthony, born Ricardo Anthony Btesh (13 January 1938 – 19 April 2015), was a French pop singer, born in Egypt, who had his greatest success in the 1960s and 1970s. Franck Pourcel (14 August 1913 – 12 November 2000) was a French composer, arranger, and conductor of popular and classical music. Biography Early life Born in Marseille, France, Pourcel started learning the violin at the age of six. Later, Pourcel studied violin at the Conservatoire in Marseille, and also drums because he loved jazz, and spent a year in Paris at the Conservatoire. The Conservatoire de Paris (), also known as the Paris Conservatory, is a college of music and dance founded in 1795.
