Ray Warburton
Raymond Warburton (born 7 October 1967 in Rotherham, England) is an English former footballer. Playing career Warburton started his career at hometown club Rotherham United, before moving on to York City in August 1989. At York he helped the club win promotion form the Third Division in 1992–93. In February 1994 he moved on to Northampton Town, where he again won promotion to the Second Division, this time via the play-offs in 1997. The following year he moved on to Rushden & Diamonds, where he lifted the Conference National title in 2000–01. After which he joined Boston United, who went on to lift the Conference title in 2001-02. In January 2003 he signed with Aldershot Town, helping them to lift the Isthmian League Premier Division title in 2002–03. Rotherham
Rotherham () is a large minster and market town in South Yorkshire, England. The town takes its name from the River Rother which then merges with the River Don. The River Don then flows through the town centre. It is the main settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham. Rotherham is also the third largest settlement in South Yorkshire after Sheffield and Doncaster, which it is located between. Traditional industries included glass making and flour milling. Most around the time of the industrial revolution, it was also known as a coal mining town as well as a contributor to the steel industry. The town's historic county is Yorkshire. From 1889 until 1974, the County of York's ridings became counties in their own right, the West Riding of Yorkshire was the town's county while South Yorkshire is its current county. The Isthmian League () is a regional men's football league covering Greater London, East and South East England, featuring mostly semi-professional clubs. Founded in 1905 by amateur clubs in the London area, the league now consists of 82 teams in four divisions: the Premier Division above its three feeder divisions, the North, South Central and South East divisions. The 1997 Football League Third Division play-off Final was an association football match which was played on 24 May 1997 at Wembley Stadium, London, between Northampton Town and Swansea City to determine the fourth and final team to gain promotion from the Football League Third Division to the Second Division. The top three teams of the 1996–97 Football League Third Division, Carlisle United, Fulham and league winners Wigan Athletic, gained automatic promotion to the Second Division, while the teams placed from fourth to seventh in the table took part in play-offs.
