Ray Renfro
Austin Raymond Renfro (November 7, 1929 – August 4, 1997) was an American professional gridiron football player. Renfro attended the University of North Texas and played in 12 NFL seasons from 1952–1963 for the Cleveland Browns. He is the father of former Houston Oilers and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Mike Renfro. Ray died at the age of 67 and was interred at the Greenwood Memorial Park cemetery along with Lon Evans. He also served as an NFL assistant coach in the 1960s and 1970s. In 1965, he coached running backs for the Detroit Lions. Touchdown
A touchdown (abbreviated as TD) is a scoring play in gridiron football. Whether running, passing, returning a kickoff or punt, or recovering a turnover, a team scores a touchdown by advancing the ball into the opponent's end zone. In American football, a touchdown is worth six points and is followed by an extra point or two-point conversion attempt. Description To score a touchdown, one team must take the football into the opposite end zone. Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions are a professional American football team based in Detroit. The Lions compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the National Football Conference (NFC) North Division. The team play their home games at Ford Field in Downtown Detroit. The franchise was founded in Portsmouth, Ohio, as the Portsmouth Spartans, and joined the NFL on July 12, 1930. Amid financial struggles, the franchise was relocated to Detroit in 1934. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. Lon Evans
Lon Worth Evans (December 25, 1911 – December 11, 1992) was a professional American football player who played offensive lineman for five seasons for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League (NFL). He was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 1978. Evans was born in Fort Worth, Texas and attended Polytechnic High School (Fort Worth, Texas), Polytechnic High School. He then played at Texas Christian University for coach Francis Schmidt. As a senior in 1932, Evans helped the TCU Horned Frogs to a Southwest Conference championship. Following his NFL career, Evans became sheriff of Tarrant County, Texas. Nicknamed "Purple Lawman", he held the county's top law enforcement job from 1960 until his retirement in 1984. Mike Renfro
Michael Ray Renfro (born June 19, 1955) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Houston Oilers and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at Texas Christian University. Early years Renfro attended Arlington Heights High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete. He was a wide receiver in football. He accepted a football scholarship from Texas Christian University. He was named a starter as a freshman and was second on the team with 21 receptions for 362 yards (17.2-yard avg.) and 2 touchdowns. As a sophomore, his production jumped to 49 receptions for 810 yards (16.5-yard avg.) and 2 touchdowns. As a junior, he led the team with 42 receptions for 773 yards (18.4-yard avg.) and 3 touchdowns. His best season came as a senior, posting 50 receptions for 794 yards, including a school and a Southwest Conference single-season record with 10 receiving touchdowns.
