Ray Preston (born 27 December 1930) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Preston was recruited from Shepparton club, City United in the Goulburn Valley Football League after he won the club's 1952 best and fairest award. Ardmona Football Club
The Ardmona Football Club is an Australian rules football club from the Goulburn Valley town of Ardmona, Victoria, Australia that plays in the Kyabram & District Football League. History Ardmona Football Club was established in 1920 by the local young men of Ardmona, playing in Wednesday afternoon competitions at the primary school grounds. An attempt was made in 1920 to secure a ground for the club but the deal was not brought to completion. A letter to the editor in the Shepparton Advertiser in November 1921 claimed that Ardmona needed a recreation ground for the locals to utilize. The local young men were travelling to Mooroopna to play sport. Ardmona played its first league game in the Toolamba District Association on 24 June 1922 against Toolamba. The Sydney Swans are a professional Australian rules football club based in Sydney, New South Wales. The men's team competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), and the women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW). The Swans also field a reserves men's team in the Victorian Football League (VFL). The Australian Football League (AFL) is the only fully professional competition of Australian rules football. Through the AFL Commission, the AFL also serves as the sport's governing body and is responsible for controlling the laws of the game. The Goulburn Valley Football Netball League is an Australian rules football and netball competition based in the Goulburn Valley region of Victoria, Australia. It is a member of the Victorian Country Football League and has won the Victorian Country Football Championships in 2003 and 2005. History The league was initially called the Goulburn Valley District Football Association(GVDFA) and dates back to May, 1893. Clubs from the townships of Kyabram, Mooroopna, Nagambie, Nathalia, Numurkah, Shepparton, Shepparton Ramblers, Tatura, Undera and Wunghnu were present at the inaugural meeting. Ovens & Murray Football League
The Ovens and Murray Football Netball League (O&MFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball competition containing ten clubs based in north-eastern Victoria, the southern Riverina region of New South Wales and the Ovens and Murray area. The name comes from the Ovens River, the river in the part of north-eastern Victoria covered by the league, and the Murray River, which separates Victoria and New South Wales. The league features three grades in the Australian rules football competition, with these being First-Grade, Reserve-Grade and Under 18s. In the netball competition, there are four grades, with these being A-Grade, B-Grade, C-Grade and Under 16s. Currently a home and away season consisting of eighteen rounds is played. Alby Rodda
Albert Rupert Joseph Rodda (8 September 1920 – 15 May 2002) was an Australian rules football player in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Rodda played 50 odd games with the State Savings Bank Football Club in the Amateurs prior to joining Melbourne. He was a member of the Melbourne's VFL premiership teams in 1939, 1940 and 1948. Rodda was a member of Melbourne's 1946 losing VFL grand final team and was Melbourne's best player in the 1948 drawn VFL grand final. Rodda coached Myrtleford in the Ovens & Murray Football League from 1951 to 1954, and was runner up in the 1955 O&MFL best and fairest award, the Morris Medal in 1955. Rodda then coached Bright in the Ovens & King Football League in 1956 and 1957 and won the club best and fairest in 1957 too.
