Ray Jacobs (defensive Tackle)
Herschel Ray Jacobs (born November 21, 1938) is a former professional American football defensive tackle in the American Football League for the Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins and Boston Patriots. He played college football at Howard Payne University. Early years Jacobs attended Corsicana High School, before moving on to Navarro Junior College. After his freshman season he transferred to Howard Payne University, where he played offensive tackle and defensive tackle. He was a two-time NAIA All-American and a three-time Lone Star Conference selection. In 2005, Jacobs was inducted into the Howard Payne University Sports Hall of Fame. He was inducted to the Navarro College athletic hall of fame in 2021. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. Little All-America College Football Team
The Little All-America team is an honor given annually to the best small college players at their respective positions. The first Little All-America team for college football, selected with assistance from reporters in every region, was announced in December 1934 by Edward J. Neil of the Associated Press (AP). Neil wrote that the Little All-America team was intended to honor "the little fellows, players in hundreds of colleges who labored just as earnestly, often with just as much ability, but barely edging into the spotlight . . ." Navarro College is a public community college in Texas with its main campus in Corsicana and branches in Fairfield, Mexia, Midlothian, and Waxahachie. The college has an annual student enrollment of more than 9,000 students. Corsicana Independent School District is a public school district based in Corsicana, Texas, United States. In addition to Corsicana, the district serves the central Navarro County towns of Angus, Mustang, Oak Valley, Retreat, and Richland. American Football

The Lone Star Conference (LSC) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level.
