Ray Finnegan
Ray Finnegan is a Gaelic footballer for Louth. He plays Gaelic football with his local club St Patrick's Lordship, when he lifted the Joe Ward Cup for the sixth time in 2014 as captain. He was a member of the Louth senior football team since 2004 until he retired in 2013. His younger brother Dessie is also a member of the senior team. Drogheda
Drogheda ( , ; , meaning "bridge at the ford") is an industrial and port town in County Louth on the east coast of Ireland, north of Dublin. Lordship, County Louth
Lordship () is a rural area and census town in County Louth, Ireland. It is located in the civil parish of Ballymascanlan. The local Roman Catholic church, the Church of St Mary, was built and is in the parish of Lordship & Ballymascanlon of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Armagh. Dessie Finnegan is a Gaelic football player who played for the Louth inter-county team and St Patrick's GFC of Lordship, County Louth. He won a National Football League Division 3 medal in 2011. His older brother Ray Finnegan was also a member of the Louth senior football team. He is played in the full-back position, and was a member of the Louth team that contested the Leinster trophy in 2010. Tommy Murphy Cup
The Tommy Murphy Cup was a Gaelic football competition, featuring senior county teams eliminated from the early stages of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship and also Kilkenny when not fielding a team in the main All-Ireland. The series of games, organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association, were played during the summer months with the final being played in August at Croke Park. The Cup was named after Tommy Murphy, a footballer from County Laois who was, appropriately for the competition, the only member of the Team of the Millennium from a county which had not won an All-Ireland. Later changes to the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship meant that the 2008 Tommy Murphy Cup featured the eight lowest-ranking teams in National Football League, unless the teams reached the final of their respective provincial championships. Cardinal O'Donnell Cup
The Cardinal O'Donnell Cup is an annual senior league competition organised by Louth GAA for the Division 1 teams in Gaelic football in County Louth. Format All 12 teams play each other once, with the top four traditionally qualifying for the semi-final stage. The semi-final victors then face off in the final of the competition. There is also relegation to Division 2 for the worst-performing team(s). Trophy The winning team is presented with the Cardinal O'Donnell Cup, named after Patrick O'Donnell, who was Catholic Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland from 1924 until his death in October 1927.
