Ray Cashley
Alec Raymond "Ray" Cashley (born 23 October 1951 in Bristol, England) is an English former professional football goalkeeper. He joined Bristol City as a youth player and was their number one goalkeeper in the early 1970s despite starting his career as a fullback. He made his debut for Bristol City against Southampton in the FA Cup in 1970.Ponting, I. (1990) Bristol City Greats. Bristol Redcliffe Press Ltd. In the 1975–76 season, City were promoted to the First Division but Cashley lost his place to John Shaw soon afterwards and had only brief spells in the side for the remainder of his time with City. Cashley even scored a goal for City on 18 September 1973, with a long clearance from his own penalty area against Hull City on a gusty night. In total, he made 262 appearances, 227 of those in the league for The Robins. Keith Waugh
Keith Waugh (born 27 October 1956 ) is an English-born footballer who played as a goalkeeper in the Football League between the 1970s and 1990s, most notably with Peterborough United, Sheffield United and Bristol City. He started as a trainee with Sunderland, but did not play any League games with them, and he moved to Peterborough United, first playing a league game for them in 1976–77. He went on to make 195 League appearances for ''The Posh''. He moved to Sheffield United in 1981 for a fee of £100,000, and made 99 League appearances for the club He moved to Bristol City in the mid-1980s, although he had loan spells at Bristol City and Cambridge United during the 1984–85 season before his permanent move to The Robins. The Football League Fourth Division was the fourth-highest division in the English football league system from the 1958–59 season until the creation of the Premier League prior to the 1992–93 season. Whilst the division disappeared in name in 1992, the 4th tier of English football continued as the Football League Third Division, and later became known as Football League Two. The Football League
The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. It was the top-level football league in England from its foundation until 1992, when the top 22 clubs split from it to form the Premier League. The EFL is divided into the Championship, League One and League Two, with 24 clubs in each division, 72 in total, with promotion and relegation between them; the top Championship clubs change places with the lowest-placed clubs in the Premier League, and the bottom clubs of League Two with the top clubs of the National League. John Shaw (footballer, Born 1954)
John Shaw (born 4 February 1954 in Stirling, Scotland) is a Scottish former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He made over 400 Football League appearances in the 1970s and 1980s. Career John Shaw played youth football with Leeds United. Shaw signed professional for Leeds United in February 1971. Shaw gained first team experience in the UEFA Cup with Leeds United, notably in a 0–4 defeat at home to Lierse S. K. of Belgium, but never appeared in the Football League for the club. Alan Dicks signed Shaw in May 1974 on a free transfer from Leeds United for Bristol City. Jimmy Mann made the same move at the same time.
