Ray Blackman

	Ray Blackman Ray Blackman is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s. Primarily a , he was a foundation player for the North Queensland Cowboys. Playing career In 1991, Blackman started on the wing in the North Queensland Marlins side that defeated the Central Queensland Comets in the Grand Final of the Winfield State League, scoring a try. In 1992, he scored two tries for the Marlins, renamed the Northern Division, in their Grand Final loss to the Brisbane Capitols. In Round 19 of the 1995 ARL season, Blackman made his first grade debut for the North Queensland Cowboys in a 22–6 loss to the South Queensland Crushers. In his first (and only) season with the Cowboys, Blackman started three games on the wing, scoring one try. 	Winfield State League The Winfield State League was a rugby league football competition in Queensland, Australia. It was administered by the Queensland Rugby League. The competition was the QRL's parallel to the NSWRL's Amco Cup knockout and ran alongside the Brisbane Rugby League club competition. 	South Queensland Crushers The South Queensland Crushers were an Australian rugby league football club based in Brisbane, Queensland. In 1992 it was decided that the team would be admitted into the New South Wales Rugby League competition, along with three other teams, as part of the League's expansion plans for professional rugby league in Australia. The competition was re-branded the Australia Rugby League competition in 1995, which was the Crushers' first season. The Crushers, whose whole existence was against the backdrop of the Super League war, were an unsuccessful club.
