The daughter of director Ravi Tandon, she made her acting debut in the 1991 action film ''Patthar Ke Phool'', which won her the Filmfare Award for New Face of the Year. She made her acting debut in the 1991 action film ''Patthar Ke Phool'', which earned her the Filmfare Award for New Face of the Year.
