Nothofagus Alpina
''Nothofagus alpina'', also called rauli or raulí beech (in Mapuche language) is a species of plant in the Nothofagaceae family. A deciduous tree, it grows in Chile and Argentina, it reaches 50 m (160 ft) height and more than 2 meters (6.5 feet) in diameter. Its distribution goes from 35 to 42° South latitude. It is found on the Andes. It tolerates low temperatures and heavy winds. It has a straight and cylindrical trunk with grey bark. ''N. alpina'' was proposed to be renamed ''Lophozonia alpina'' in 2013. Description Monoecious and leafy. Alternate leaves, petioles 3 to 12 mm long, oblong ovate to lanceolate ovate, with glands and hairs regularly distributed, undulate margins and softly serrated. Rauli Somerjoki (born Rauli Aarre Tapani Somerjoki; 30 August 1947-14 January 1987), known professionally as "Badding", was a Finnish rock singer born in the town of Somero into a family of five children. His records were published on such labels as Love Records. Career Badding Somerjoki founded his first band, The Five Yes, in 1963 and also played in the group Suomen Talvisota 1939-1940. He and M. A. Numminen caused a major scandal in 1966 with provocative songs like "Mitä nuoren aviomiehen tulee muistaa" ('What Young Husbands Should Remember') and "Jenkka ulkosynnyttimistä" ('Vulva Jenkka'), whose performance resulted in the interruption of the concert by the police although the lyrics were simply texts from factual books on marriage and sexuality available in public libraries. Rauli Rafael Arvid Tuomi (15 July 1919 – 2 February 1949) was a Finnish film and stage actor. Career Tuomi appeared in 23 films since 1938. He won two Jussi Awards for Best Actor; first from the film '' Linnaisten vihreä kamari'' (1945) and the second from ''"Minä elän"'' (1948). Alongside his film career, he worked in the Finnish National Theatre, playing successful roles in such plays as '' Sappho'' (1945) and '' Romeo and Juliet'' (1946). Rauli Virtanen (born 28 June 1948) is a Finnish writer, freelance journalist, lecturer and television producer. He has covered wars and conflicts since the days of Vietnam and has travelled in 194 countries. He has been a foreign correspondent based in New York and London and a roving correspondent based in Finland. Virtanen has worked for all the major Finnish print and electronic media, and his articles have also been published in the foreign media. He has written seven non-fiction books. In 2015-2016 Rauli Virtanen was the visiting professor of journalism at the University of Tampere. In 2017 he was elected to the Espoo City Council as an independent on the Green Party list.
