Urbano Rattazzi
Urbano Pio Francesco Rattazzi (; 29 June 1808 5 June 1873) was an Italian statesman. Personal life He was born in Alessandria (Piedmont). He studied law at Turin, and in 1838 began his practice, which met with marked success at the capital and Casale. His wife, Laetitia Marie Wyse Bonaparte, whom he married in 1863, was a noted French novelist and a grandniece of Emperor Napoleon I. Together they had one daughter: Romana Rattazzi (1871–1943). Career In 1848, Rattazzi was sent to the Sardinian chamber of deputies in Turin as representative of his native town. He allied himself with the Liberal party, i.e. Democrats. By his debating powers, he contributed to the defeat of the Balbo ministry, and in August received the portfolio of Public Instruction, though he left office after a few days. In December, in the Gioberti cabinet, he became Minister of the Interior, and on the fall of Gioberti, in February 1849, Rattazzi was entrusted with the formation of a new cabinet. The defea ... Sebastiano Tecchio
Sebastiano Tecchio (3 January 1807 – 24 January 1886), was an Italian lawyer and politician that was president of the Italian Senate from 1876 to 1884. Life Born in Vicenza, he graduated at the University of Padua in law and worked as lawyer when Vicenza was part Kingdom of Lombardy–Venetia. In 1849 he fought against the Austrian Empire during the First Italian War of Independence and after the Battle of Novara he was forced to leave his hometown to live in exile in the Kingdom of Sardinia where he was, for a brief time, a minister. From 1849 to 1859 he was elected as member of chamber of deputies the lower house of the Italian parliament. Michele Coppino
Michele Coppino (1 April 1822 – 25 April 1901) was an Italian professor and politician. Biography Coppino was born to a poor family in Alba, Piedmont, where he later died. He was professor of Italian literature at the University of Turin and rector of the same from 1868 to 1870, when he moved to Rome (which had been declared capital of the Kingdom of Italy) to follow his political roles. Coppino participated to the elections for the Chamber of Deputies of the Kingdom of Sardinia for the first time in 1857, but was defeated at the ballot. He was elected in 1860 and re-elected to the first legislature of the Italian Chamber of Deputies one year later. He was subsequently a member of the Italian Parliament for some 40 years, interrupted, and twice President of the Chamber (both times succeeding Domenico Farini).
