Ratko Mladić ( sr-Cyrl, Ратко Младић, ; born 12 March 1942) is a Bosnian Serb convicted war criminal and colonel-general who led the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS) during the Yugoslav Wars. In 2017, he was found guilty of committing war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). A long-time member of the League of Communists of Yugoslavia, Mladić began his career in the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) in 1965. He came to prominence in the Yugoslav Wars, initially as a high-ranking officer of the Yugoslav People's Army and subsequently as the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of Republika Srpska in the Bosnian War of 1992–1995. Ratko Varda ( sr-cyr, Ратко Варда; born May 6, 1979) is a Serbian-Bosnian former basketball player who played professionally for 22 years. Standing at , he played the center position. He first represented FR Yugoslavia/Serbia and Montenegro junior national team, and later represented Bosnia and Herzegovina national basketball team internationally. Professional career Varda came up through Partizan's youth system and made his debut during the 1995–96 season, before making himself eligible for the 2001 NBA draft. He ended up not getting selected but still found himself on the Detroit Pistons roster to the start of the 2001–02 season. Ratko Rudić (born 7 June 1948 in Belgrade, PR Serbia, FPR Yugoslavia) is a retired Croatian water polo coach and a former water polo player. , he has won 38 medals as a coach at major events, making him the most successful water polo coach in history, and second most successful team sport coach of all time. He won four gold medals, of which three consecutive, with three different national teams at the Summer Olympics, as well as three gold medals with three national teams at the World Championships, among many others. Ratko Perić (born 2 February 1944) is a prelate of the Catholic Church who served as the bishop of Mostar-Duvno and apostolic administrator of Trebinje-Mrkan from 1993 until his retirement in 2020. After his retirement in July 2020, he briefly served as the apostolic administrator of both dioceses until the installment of his successor Petar Palić in September 2020. Ratko Dostanić (; born 25 October 1959) is a Serbian former professional footballer who played as a defender and current manager of Zeta. Ratko Janev ( mk, Ратко Jанев) (March 30, 1939 – December 31, 2019) was a Yugoslav and Serbian atomic physicist and Macedonian academician. Biography Janev was born on March 30, 1939 in Sveti Vrach, Bulgaria. During his youth he moved to Yugoslavia, where he graduated from a high school in Skopje in 1957 and then went on to study at the University of Belgrade, where he received a PhD degree in 1968. From 1965 he was an associate of the Vinča Nuclear Institute. From 1986 he was Head of the Atomic and Molecular Unit in the Nuclear Data Section of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna. Having played for Antwerp for nearly 20 years, he also coached the Belgian club on several occasions. Playing career Ninković started his professional career at Željezničar in which he has spent six years, from 1985 until 1991.
