CSS (an initialism of Cansei de Ser Sexy) (, in São Paulo, English lit. "Tired of being sexy") is a Brazilian rock band from São Paulo. The band was labeled as part of the explosion of the new rave scene. Their songs are in both English and Portuguese. History 2003–06: Formation and ''Cansei de Ser Sexy'' (Brazilian album) CSS formed in September 2003, consisting of a group of friends. Their name was taken from a reported quote by Beyoncé, who allegedly declared that she was "tired of being sexy". The band first garnered fame through the internet. ''Donkey'' is the second album of Brazilian electro/rock band CSS, released on July 21, 2008. Seventeen songs were recorded at Trama Studios São Paulo, of which eleven appear on the album. ''Donkey'' follows their critically acclaimed debut album ''Cansei de Ser Sexy''. Three months before the release, bassist Iracema Trevisan left the band, being replaced by then-drummer Adriano Cintra. The new drummer is Englishman Jon Harper, formerly of The Cooper Temple Clause. The album was released in Canada and the United States by label Sub Pop, in Europe by Warner Bros. Records, and Japan by KSR. Adriano Ferreira Cintra (born 21 May 1974) is a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and producer, also known as an underground and club celebrity in his hometown. He was a guitarist and singer for the garage rock power trio Thee Butchers' Orchestra, and among his many projects and bands are Ultrasom and Caxabaxa. He was also in the band I Love Miami in his native São Paulo. Openly gay, Cintra is also a composer for fashion shows, and was the recording engineer for Tom Zé's 1998 album '' Com Defeito de Fabricação''. "Music Is My Hot Hot Sex" is a single by Brazilian band Cansei de Ser Sexy from their first album ''Cansei de Ser Sexy''. The song was featured in a Zune advertisement in 2006 and again in an iPod advertisement in 2007. An 18-year-old British student, Nick Haley, used the song in a homemade 30-second commercial for the iPod Touch that he created and then posted on the video sharing site YouTube on September 11, 2007. Creative executives from Apple's advertising agency, TBWA\Chiat\Day, saw Haley's creation, contacted him and enlisted him to remake it as a broadcast version. "Left Behind" is a single by Brazilian band CSS. It was released in July, 14th as the second single and first to have a physical release from their second album, ''Donkey''. It charted at #78 in the UK and at #18 in Finland. Music video A music video for the song was released on at CSS' official YouTube channel. The clip shows Renata Abbade, who also directed and produced the video, using masks of CSS faces and dancing the song. The official video directed by Abbade was put together after the original video was cancelled following its completion due to a British girl murdered in Brasil while on vacation, her body was dumped in two suitcases and dumped in a river, the original video featured members of the band packed into a suitcase and was deemed in bad taste.
