Rasim Al-Jumaily
Rasim Al-Jumaily ( ar, راسم الجميلي) (1938 – 1 December 2007) was a popular Iraqi comedian and actor. He was best known for his role Abu Ghanim on the 1960s Iraqi television comedian ''Tahit Moos Al-Hallaq''. He was born in 1938 in a poor neighborhood in Baghdad, Iraq. He attended and graduated from Baghdad's College of Fine Arts in 1964. Al-Jumaili joined the Iraq military following his graduation as an officer. He became an active member of the military theater while in the service. His first break in the Iraqi entertainment industry by performing in theater stage productions in Baghdad in the early 1980s. Al-Jumaili and his family fled to Syria following the 2003 invasion of Iraq, joining the dozens of other Iraqi actors and comedians who also fled the violence that was sweeping Iraq in the years following the invasion. Jalal Talabani
Jalal Talabani ( ku, مام جەلال تاڵەبانی, translit=Celal Talebanî; ar, جلال طالباني ; 1933 – 3 October 2017) was an Iraqi Kurdish politician who served as the sixth president of Iraq from 2006 to 2014, as well as the president of the Governing Council of Iraq. He was the first non-Arab president of Iraq. He is known as Mam Jalal (uncle Jalal in Kurdish) amongst the Kurds. Talabani was the founder and secretary-general of one of the main Kurdish political parties, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). The president of Iraq is the head of state of Iraq and "safeguards the commitment to the Constitution and the preservation of Iraq's independence, sovereignty, unity, the security of its territories in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution". The president is elected by the Council of Representatives by a two-thirds majority, and is limited to two four-year terms.
