Amritsar (), historically also known as Rāmdāspur and colloquially as ''Ambarsar'', is the second largest city in the Indian state of Punjab, after Ludhiana. Munir Niazi
Munir Ahmed Niazi, ( pa, ) (9 April 1923– 26 December 2006) was an Punjabi and Urdu poet from Pakistan. He also wrote for newspapers, magazines and radio. In 1960, he established a publication institute, ''Al-Misal''. He was later associated with Pakistan Television, Lahore and lived in Lahore till his death. Early life and career Munir Ahmed Niazi was born on 9 April 1923, in a village in Hoshiarpur district, Punjab, British India. He was initially educated at Khanpur. After the partition of India in 1947, he migrated and settled in Sahiwal, where he passed his matriculation examination. He earned an intermediate degree from Sadiq Egerton College, Bahawalpur and a B.A. degree from Dayal Singh College, Lahore, Pakistan. Naseem Begum ( ur, ), (24 February 1936 – 29 September 1971) was a popular, and well known Pakistani film playback singer. She was known as ''The Tradegy Queen'' for singing sorrowful and downhearted songs in films. She rose to prominence towards the end of the 1950s, and by 1964, she had won the prestigious Nigar Awards on four occasions. Despite originally being billed as a ''Second Noor Jehan'', Naseem Begum quickly carved out her own successful niche in the Pakistani film industry. Faiz Ahmad ''Faiz'' (13 February 1911 – 20 November 1984; Urdu, Punjabi: فیض احمد فیض) was a Pakistani poet, and author of Urdu and Punjabi literature. Inayat Hussain Bhatti ( ur, ), (12 January 1928 – 31 May 1999) was a Pakistani film playback singer, film actor, producer, director, script writer, social worker, columnist, religious scholar and a promoter of the development of the Punjabi language and literature. Saifuddin Saif
Saifuddin Saif (20 July 1922 12 July 1993) was a Pakistani lyricist, poet, film producer-director, and the founder of Rehnuma Films, a film studio of 1954. He was involved in writing poems and lyrics before and after the Partition. However, most of his films written before partition remained unreleased due to political instabilities in the subcontinent. He was best known for his film Kartar Singh, and is also credited for writing lyrics for Pakistan's historical and first-ever feature film '' Teri Yaad'', which helped him to appear among the prominent writers. ''Zarqa'' is a 1969 Pakistani epic historical drama film directed, produced and written by Riaz Shahid while the music is composed by Rashid Attre and Wajahat Attre. It features Neelo, Alauddin, Ejaz Durrani, Saqi and Nasira as protagonist characters. It is based on the life of Zarqa, a Palestinian dancer girl and a freedom activist, the latter of whom killed herself for the liberation of Palestine involving Israeli-occupied territories and Palestinian liberation movement. ''Farangi'' is a 1964 Pakistani Urdu film. It is directed by Khalil Qaiser and written by Riaz Shahid. The film stars Sudhir, Shamim Ara and Agha Talish with Bahar Begum and Allauddin.
