Rashaad Singleton
Donald Rashaad Singleton (born May 22, 1987) is an American basketball player who plays for ES Radès of the Championnat National A. Standing at , he plays as center. Singleton played four seasons of college basketball for Georgia, before turning professionally in 2009. Career On March 7, 2013, Singleton signed with the Singapore Slingers of the ASEAN Basketball League. He averaged 11.8 points and 10.4 rebounds per game in 11 ABL games. In August 2013, Singleton signed in Japan with the Shimane Susanoo Magic. However, he left the team on August 22, before playing a game. For the 2013–14 season, he signed with Al Morog in Libya. Here, he averaged 20.8 points, 17.4 rebounds and 4.2 blocks per game. The Basketball Africa League (BAL) is Africa's premier men's basketball league. The league consists of twelve teams, each qualified through their domestic competition, similar to the format of the UEFA Champions League. The league is a joint effort between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and International Basketball Federation (FIBA) with sponsorship from Nike, Inc., Nike, Air Jordan and Pepsi. Its 2021 BAL season, inaugural season started with the qualifying rounds in October 2019 and the regular season in May 2021. 2020 BAL Season
The 2021 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 1, was the inaugural season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Established as a joint effort between the National Basketball Association (NBA) and FIBA, the BAL is the highest tier continental league of Africa, replacing the FIBA Africa Basketball League. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the BAL held its inaugural season one year later as planned, with the season beginning in 2021. Initially the league planned to play in six venues in six countries; however, due to the pandemic the season was held in a bio-secure bubble in Kigali, Rwanda. Gendarmerie Nationale Basketball Club, commonly known as GNBC, is a Malagasy basketball club based in Antsirabe, Vakinankaratra. The team plays in the Malagasy N1A and played in the inaugural season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). Established in 2012, the team has won its national championship twice. History The public sports institution GNBC was established in 2012. In September 2019, GNBC grabbed the N1A title after edging COSPN in the final. As national champions, GNBC played in the first round of the qualifying tournament of the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
