Rareform
''Rareform'' is the second studio album by American progressive metal band After the Burial. It was released on July 22, 2008, through Sumerian Records. In September 2018, After the Burial began a 10-year anniversary tour with The Acacia Strain, Erra, and Make Them Suffer, where After the Burial played the record in full. Reissue On September 15, 2009, the band released a re-mixed and re-mastered version of ''Rareform'' with alternative artwork and bonus features. The vocals on the reissue were re-recorded with the band's current vocalist, Anthony Notormaso (in contrast to Grant Luoma, who performed lead vocals for the original version of ''Rareform''). Contrary to popular belief, the drums were not actually re-recorded by Dan Carle live and were still programmed for the reissue of the album, albeit remixed extensively. After the Burial is an American progressive metal band from Minneapolis, Minnesota. They are currently signed to Sumerian Records and have released five of their six full-length albums through the label. Since their inception in 2004, the band has gone through two vocalist changes, two drummer changes, the departure and death of founding rhythm guitarist Justin Lowe, and the departure of bassist Lerichard Foral. Lead guitarist Trent Hafdahl remains the sole remaining founding member. They are considered key contributors to the development of subgenres such as djent and progressive metalcore. ''Forging a Future Self'' is the debut studio album by American progressive metal band After the Burial. It was recorded in 2005 and released on March 1, 2006, through Corrosive Recordings. It is the only album to feature vocalist Nick Wellner. Background The songs "Warm Thoughts of Warfare", "Forging a Future Self", "Isolation Theory" and "Fingers Like Daggers" were originally recorded for the band's ''Demo 2005''. Make Them Suffer
Make Them Suffer is an Australian metalcore band from Perth, formed in 2008. They are currently signed to SharpTone Records. Their debut studio album, '' Neverbloom'', peaked at No. 56 on the ARIA Album charts in June 2012, and showcased the band's earlier mix of metalcore, blackened death metal, and symphonic metal. Its follow-up '' Old Souls'' debuted at No. 30 upon release in May 2015 and displayed the band beginning to transition from death/black metal to a more progressive metalcore sound. The Acacia Strain is an American deathcore band that was founded in 2001 and originally based in Chicopee, Massachusetts, but now based in Albany, New York. Progressive Metal
Progressive metal (often shortened to prog metal) is a broad fusion music genre melding heavy metal music, heavy metal and progressive rock, combining the loud "aggression" and amplified electric guitar, guitar-driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or quasi-classical compositions of the latter.
