Raquel Ferreira
Raquel Ferreira is a baseball executive who is an executive vice president and assistant general manager for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). In 2014, she became the third female vice-president of baseball operations in MLB history. Baseball career Ferreira was first hired by the Boston Red Sox in 1999 as an administrative assistant by Kent Qualls. In 2003, she was promoted to Director of Minor League Administration by then general manager Theo Epstein. In 2004, she played a key role in the team's rookie development program. Cumberland, Rhode Island
Cumberland is the northeasternmost town in Providence County, Rhode Island, United States, first settled in 1635 and incorporated in 1746. The population was 36,405 at the 2020 census, making it the seventh-largest municipality and the largest town in the state. David Dombrowski (born July 27, 1956) is an American baseball executive who serves as the President of Baseball Operations for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB). Women have a long history in American baseball and many women's teams have existed over the years. Baseball was played at women's colleges in New York and New England as early as the mid-nineteenth century; teams were formed at Vassar College, Smith College, Wellesley College, and Mount Holyoke College. An African American women's team, the Philadelphia Dolly Vardens, was formed in 1867. A number of women's barnstorming teams have existed, and women have played alongside major league players in exhibition games. Pawtucket Red Sox
The Pawtucket Red Sox, known colloquially as the PawSox, were a professional minor league baseball club based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. From 1973 to 2020, the team was a member of the International League and served as the Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. The PawSox played their home games at Pawtucket's McCoy Stadium as the only professional baseball team in Rhode Island, and won four league championships, their last in 2014. The World Series is the annual championship series of Major League Baseball (MLB) in the United States and Canada, contested since 1903 between the champion teams of the American League (AL) and the National League (NL).
