Rapi Films
Rapi Films is an Indonesian film production company of mostly exploitation films which was founded in 1968 and was internationally successful mostly in the 1980s. They produced many martial arts films and horror films involving black magic, inspired by old Indonesian legends. Directors who worked for them during this period include Ratno Timoer, H. Tjut Djalil and Sisworo Gautama Putra. Today they produce mostly TV-series and some feature films. A production company, production house, production studio, or a production team is a studio that creates works in the fields of performing arts, new media art, film, television, radio, comics, interactive arts, video games, websites, music, and video. These groups consist of technical staff to produce the media, and are often incorporated as a commercial publisher. Exploitation Film
An exploitation film is a film that tries to succeed financially by exploiting current trends, niche genres, or lurid content. Exploitation films are generally low-quality "B movies", though some set trends, attract critical attention, become historically important, and even gain a cult following. History Exploitation films may feature suggestive or explicit sex, sensational violence, drug use, nudity, gore, destruction, rebellion, mayhem, and the bizarre. Such films were first seen in their modern form in the early 1920s, but they were popularized in the 60s and 70s with the general relaxing of censorship and cinematic taboos in the U.S. and Europe. Ratno Timoer
Ratne (; ; yi, ראטנא ''Ratno'') is an urban settlement (town) in Volyn Oblast (province), located in the historic region of the Volhynia. Population: History Ratne is mentioned in old Ruthenian documents at the end of 12th - beginning of 13th centuries. It served as a border town where Great Prince kept his garrison (''rat''). Sisworo Gautama Putra (May 26, 1938 – January 5, 1993) was an Indonesian film director and screenwriter, best known for his work in the horror film genre. Biography Born in Kisaran in North Sumatra, Sisworo trained as a director in 1961. In 1962 he began working in the studio Gema Period Film. He worked as screenwriter unit manager, production manager and then assistant director. His solo debut as a director started in 1972 with the film ''Revenge of the Child Haram'', in which the screenplay was also written by him. is a 2001 Japanese war film by Yukio Fuji which depicts a Japanese soldier who arrives in the Dutch East Indies during the Japanese occupation of the Dutch East Indies, occupation and stays to fight in the Indonesian National Revolution. ''Lentera Merah'' (English translation: ''Red Lantern'') is a 2006 Indonesian horror film directed by Hanung Bramantyo. Plot An employee of ''Lentera Merah'', the campus newspaper of the University of Indonesia, is found dead in the office with the number 65 written in blood by his body.
