Ranmuiy
''Ranmuiy'' () is a 2001 Maldivian drama film directed by Abdulla Sujau and Abdul Faththaah. Produced by Abdul Muhaimin, the film stars Ismail Wajeeh and Aishath Ibrahim in pivotal roles. The film was heavily marketed for its item song titled "Bahdhaluvumun Vejje Dheewana" featuring Indian actress Rajeshwari Sachdev, Rajeshwari which was initially planned with Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla but had to cut short after she sprained her ankle while trying to board a speedboat. Premise The film is centered on the dispute between a daughter and her step-mother. Waheed (Ismail Wajeeh) a simple widower goes to an island and is instantly attracted to Shakeela (Aishath Ibrahim) a middle-class ill-mannered young woman. They marry and Shakeela is brought to Waheed's house. Complications arise when Shakeela personally attacks her step-daughter, Reesha (Amira Amir) while interfering with her personal life. Abdul Faththaah
Abdul Faththaah Abdul Gayyoom (born 6 December 1971), commonly known as Abdul Faththaah is a Maldivian film director, producer, editor, screenwriter and choreographer. One of the most successful filmmakers in Maldivian Cinema, Faththaah is the recipient of a number of awards, including four Gaumee Film Awards, and two Maldives Film Awards. In 2004, Government of Maldives honoured him with the National Award of Recognition. He is known for his romantically stylish film-making. Realizing his potential, after a successful venture at inter-office teledrama competition, Faththaah made his directorial debut with a video single, "Dhan Dhan Dhanvaru". In 2000, he directed his first film ''Himeyn Dhuniye'' followed by '' Ranmuiy'' which was half-directed before he was roped into the project.
