Rangpur ( bn, রংপুর) is a district in Northern Bangladesh. It is a part of the Rangpur Division. Geography Under the Rangpur Division (one of eight divisions) composed of eight districts of northern Bangladesh, the District of Rangpur is bordered on the north by Nilphamari District, on the south by Gaibandha District, on the east by Kurigram, and on the west by Dinajpur district. The Rangpur Riders ( Rangpuriya/ bn, রংপুর রাইডার্স), is a professional cricket team based in Rangpur City, Rangpur. The Riders, compete in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the premier cricket league in Bangladesh. The Rangpur Riders, joined the league as a member in 2013, prior to the second edition of the tournament. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Rangpur Cricket Garden is a first-class cricket ground in Rangpur, Bangladesh. It is located on the south side of Rangpur Stadium. The ground fell into neglect in the mid-2000s but has since been rejuvenated.
