Randy Vancourt
Randy Vancourt is a Canadian composer and entertainer. A Juno Award nominated composer, he has written music for television series such as Man Alive, Hello Mrs. Cherrywinkle, Carmen SanDiego and Dudley the Dragon. He is also a writer of stage musicals including ''Chutzpah a Go-Go'', ''Born Lucky'', ''Boardwalk!'' and ''The Rocky Road To Dublin''. His recordings have received international airplay, with his Radio Freaks songs appearing on the syndicated Dr. Demento radio show. He is a founding member of the comedy troupe Radio Freaks who appeared for three years on CIUT Radio. Randy is the son of author A. The Adventures Of Dudley The Dragon
''The Adventures of Dudley the Dragon'' is a Canadian children's television series which aired on YTV in Canada and on public television stations (through Tampa, Florida PBS member station WEDU) in the United States. It aired from 1993 to 1997 and later reran until 1999. Made in live-action, it incorporated actors, full body costume characters (notably the titular dragon) and puppets. The Juno Awards, more popularly known as the JUNOS, are awards presented annually to Canadian musical artists and bands to acknowledge their artistic and technical achievements in all aspects of music. ''Man Alive'' is a Canadian television program about faith and spirituality. It took its name from a poem by St. Irenaeus, a 2nd-century Bishop of Lyon who wrote: ''The glory of God is man fully alive, and the life of man is the vision of God.'' The program debuted in 1967 on CBC Television, and was hosted by Roy Bonisteel for more than two decades. After several seasons of co-productions with Vision TV and the Life Network, the last episode aired on CBC Television on December 17, 2000. Just A Common Soldier
"Just a Common Soldier", also known as "A Soldier Died Today", is a poem written in 1987. Written and published in 1987 by Canadian veteran and columnist A. Lawrence Vaincourt, it now appears in a number of anthologies and newspapers, particularly around Remembrance Day. The Australian Legion included it in their video tribute, Victory in the Pacific, and it was a central part of the 2009 Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
