Randy Kaplan
Randy Kaplan (b. Randall Leigh Kaplan) is an American songwriter, playwright, poet, and performer. He gained renown for his “not-JUST-for-kids” music in the mid-aughts, first in Brooklyn, New York, and later nationwide. Dedicated members of his fan base call themselves FORKs (Fans of Randy Kaplan). He was signed with myKaZoo Music for his CD dedicated to Country Blues and Ragtime music (Mr. Diddie Wah Diddie), which Universal Music released. Randy has released six not-JUST-for-kids CDs (with his seventh, Shake It and Break It, released on May 10, 2019). A songwriter is a musician who professionally composes musical compositions or writes lyrics for songs, or both. The writer of the music for a song can be called a composer, although this term tends to be used mainly in the classical music genre and film scoring. A songwriter who mainly writes the lyrics for a song is referred to as a lyricist. Growing Pains
''Growing Pains'' is an American television sitcom created by Neal Marlens that aired on ABC from September 24, 1985, to April 25, 1992. The show ran for seven seasons, consisting of 166 episodes. Sin-é (; from the Irish phrase meaning "that's it") was a music venue in New York City that helped launch the careers of several noted musicians in the early 1990s. History Original café The original Sin-é, located at 122 St. Mark's Place in Manhattan's East Village, was a small café that served food, coffee, and Rolling Rock beer. It was opened by Irish immigrant Shane Doyle in 1989. The early days saw a number of poetry readings and acoustic sessions. Andras Jones (born August 12, 1968) is an American television and film actor, author, and musician. He has participated in the bands The Previous and Mr. Jones and The Previous, as well as under his own name. Eleni Mandell is an American singer-songwriter. Since 2000, she has published albums through Zedtone Records in Toronto, Ontario, which in 2012 began licensing her releases to Yep Roc in the United States, and Make My Day in Europe. She is also a member of folk supergroup The Living Sisters with Inara George and Becky Stark. Mandell attended punk and underground rock shows while growing up in Los Angeles in the 1980s. The Mother Hips is an American rock band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. History Formation and debut Tim Bluhm (vocals/guitar), Greg Loiacono (guitar/vocals), Isaac Parsons (bass) and Mike Wofchuck (drums) met in 1990 while attending California State University-Chico, living off campus in Bradley Hall. They jammed and played some original songs at a few parties (once billed as Pippi Longstocking and the Trunk-of-Funk), but soon Isaac and Mike were lured away by the prospect of playing Led Zeppelin and Jane's Addiction covers at big parties as the rhythm section of the Keystones.
