Rampage (1987 Film)
''Rampage'' is a 1987 American crime drama film written, produced and directed by William Friedkin. The film stars Michael Biehn, Alex McArthur, and Nicholas Campbell. Plot summary Charles Reece is a serial killer who commits a number of brutal mutilation-slayings in order to drink blood as a result of paranoid delusions. Reece is soon captured. Most of the film revolves around the trial and the prosecutor's attempts to have Reece found sane and given the death penalty. Defense lawyers, meanwhile, argue that the defendant is not guilty by reason of insanity. The prosecutor, Anthony Fraser, was previously against capital punishment, but he seeks such a penalty in the face of Reece's brutal crimes after meeting one victim's grieving family. In the end, Reece is found sane and given the death penalty, but Fraser's internal debate about capital punishment is rendered academic when Reece is found to be insane by a scanning of his brain for mental illness. Joseph Whipp (born July 12, 1941) is an American actor who has starred in many films and starred on television. He is known for playing police officers in films and on television. Career Whipp taught drama at Carlmont High School in the 1970s. His first role was as Nicky in the 1973 film ''The Enforcer''. Whit Hertford (born November 2, 1978) is an American theatre director, writer, and actor. Patrick Cronin (born April 11, 1941) is an American stage, television, and film actor best known for his television appearances spanning five decades. Biography Cronin is a son of Ann McGlynn and Patrick Cronin Sr. After graduating from La Salle College High School, Cronin attended La Salle University where he received a bachelor's degree. He went on to earn a master's degree in theater from Temple University. As of at least 2005 and through 2019, he is a professor of theater at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. Roy London (March 3, 1943 – August 8, 1993) was an American actor, acting coach and teacher. Early life London was born and raised on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City. A math prodigy at age five, London was on the radio show, Quiz Kids, and educated at the experimental elementary school at Hunter College, New York City.
