Ramona Brooks
Ramona L. Brooks (January 8, 1951 – June 2, 2014) was an American singer and actress. A member of Lady Flash, Barry Manilow's backup group, she sang on his 1975 Album '' Tryin' to Get the Feeling''. She also performed on Lizzy Mercier Descloux's 1979 album ''Press Color''. Tom Spahn was her vocal coach. Her 1977 solo singl''Skinnydippin''hit 94 on what is now the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, an''I Don't Want You Back''reached 55 on the U.S. Dance Club Songs chart in 1981. On Broadway, she appeared with Doug Henning in ''The Magic Show'' at the Cort Theater, and with Billy Dee Williams in ''I Have a Dream'', at the Ambassador Theater in 1976. Lady Flash
Lady Flash was an American trio of singers whose members were Reparata Mazzola, Monica Pege and Debra Byrd. They were the featured backup group for Barry Manilow from 1974–1979 and released one hit of their own, 1976's "Street Singin'". The tune, which was written and arranged by Manilow, reached #27 on the Billboard Hot 100 record chart. The song came from their album, ''Beauties In The Night'' which was also produced by Manilow. Originally called The Flashy Ladies, a reference to a song on Manilow's first album, the trio (with Ramona Brooks, whom Pege replaced in 1976) sang backing vocals for Manilow in live performance and on his first seven multiple platinum albums. ''The Blade'', also known as the ''Toledo Blade'', is a newspaper in Toledo, Ohio published daily online and printed Thursday and Sunday by Block Communications. The newspaper was first published on December 19, 1835. Overview The first issue of what was then the ''Toledo Blade'' was printed on December 19, 1835. It has been published daily since 1848 and is the oldest continuously run business in Toledo. David Ross Locke gained national fame for the paper during the Civil War era by writing under the pen name Petroleum V. Nasby. Under this name, he wrote satires ranging on topics from slavery, to the Civil War, to temperance. President Abraham Lincoln was fond of the Nasby satires and sometimes quoted them. ''The First Deadly Sin'' is a 1980 American crime thriller film produced by and starring Frank Sinatra. The film features Faye Dunaway, David Dukes, Brenda Vaccaro, James Whitmore, and Martin Gabel in his final role. The film is based on the 1973 novel of the same name written by Lawrence Sanders.
