Ramanujam Varatharaja Perumal
Ramanujam Varatharaja Perumal is an aeronautical scientist and an aerospace engineer of India. He was a director at LPSC, a unit of Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO). He was responsible for the flight integration and launch operations of the first three PSLV flights. From 1996 to 2001, he was Project Director of the Geo-Synchronous Launch Vehicle Programme (GSLV). From May 2001 he has been the Associate Director (Projects), Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thiruvananthapuram. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan award by Government of India in 2002. Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre
The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) is a major space research centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), focusing on rocket and space vehicles for India's satellite programme. It is located in Thiruvananthapuram, in the Indian state of Kerala. The centre had its beginnings as the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS) in 1962. It was renamed in honour of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, often regarded as the father of the Indian space program. H.G.S. The Padma Bhushan is the third-highest civilian award in the Republic of India, preceded by the Bharat Ratna and the Padma Vibhushan and followed by the Padma Shri.
