Ralph Verney, 2nd Earl Verney
Ralph Verney, 2nd Earl Verney PC, FRS (1 February 1714 – 31 March 1791), was a member of the Verney family of Middle Claydon and a British politician. From 1737 until 1752, when he succeeded to the earldom, he was styled Lord Fermanagh. He sat in the House of Commons several times between 1753 and 1791. Life Verney was born on 1 February 1714, the son of Ralph Verney, the first Earl Verney, of Claydon House, Buckinghamshire; and Catherine, daughter to Henry Paschall of Baddow Hall in Essex. In 1740 he married Mary, daughter of Henry Herring, a director of the Bank of England. They had no children. She died on 22 January 1791, and Verney died on 31 March of the same year; both were buried in the family vault in the church of Middle Claydon. He left debts of over £115,000. Sir John Aubrey, 6th Baronet
Sir John Aubrey, 6th Baronet (4 June 1739 – 14 March 1826) was a British Tory politician. In 1786, he succeeded to his father's baronetcy. Baptised in Boarstall in Buckinghamshire on 2 July 1739, he was the son of Sir Thomas Aubrey, 5th Baronet and Martha, daughter of Richard Carter, of Chilton, Buckinghamshire, Chief Justice of Glamorgan. Aubrey was educated at Westminster School and at Christ Church, Oxford, where he graduated as a Doctor of Civil Laws in 1763. Aubrey was Lord Commissioner of the Admiralty in 1782 and Lord of the Treasury from 1783 to 1789. Between 1768 and 1774 and between 1780 and 1784, Aubrey was Member of Parliament (MP) for Wallingford. He was further MP for Aylesbury from 1774 to 1780, for Buckinghamshire from 1784 to 1790 and for Clitheroe from 1790 to 1796. William Grenville, 1st Baron Grenville
William Wyndham Grenville, 1st Baron Grenville, (25 October 175912 January 1834) was a British Pittite Tory politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1806 to 1807, but was a supporter of the Whigs for the duration of the Napoleonic Wars. As prime minister, his most significant achievement was the abolition of the slave trade in 1807. However, his government failed to either make peace with France or to accomplish Catholic emancipation and it was dismissed in the same year. Thomas Grenville (31 December 1755 – 17 December 1846) was a British politician and bibliophile. Background and education Grenville was the second son of Prime Minister George Grenville and Elizabeth Wyndham, daughter of Sir William Wyndham, 3rd Baronet. William Stanhope (1702–1772)
Hon. Sir William Stanhope (1702–72), of Eythrope, Buckinghamshire, was an English landowner and opposition Whig politician, who sat in the House of Commons for 35 years between 1727 and 1768. Afflicted with deafness and ill-health, he travelled frequently and was often absent from Parliament. Early life Stanhope was the second son of Philip Stanhope, 3rd Earl of Chesterfield and his wife Lady Elizabeth Savile, daughter of the Marquess of Halifax. He was the brother of Philip Dormer, Lord Stanhope Hon. Charles Stanhope, and Hon. John Stanhope. He married Susanna Rudge, daughter of John Rudge of Wheatfield, Oxfordshire on 27 April 1721. Richard Lowndes (?1707–75), of Winslow, Buckinghamshire, was an English politician. He was the son of Robert Lowndes of Winslow, Buckinghamshire and educated at Eton School and Worcester College, Oxford.
