Ralph Seitsinger
Ralph E. Seitsinger (January 13, 1916 – March 30, 2016) was an American businessman, furniture merchant and politician. He served as the 36th Mayor of El Paso, Texas, from 1961 until 1963. Under Mayor Seitsinger, his administration oversaw the development and early planning for several major infrastructure projects, including the North-South Freeway through downtown El Paso, Texas State Highway Loop 375 (the Border Highway), and the Lower Valley sewer plant. Seitsinger, who identified more as a businessman than a politician, cited the growth of city parks and the development of El Paso International Airport as his greatest public accomplishments. Raymond Telles
Raymond L. Telles Jr. (September 5, 1915 – March 8, 2013) was the first Mexican Americans, Mexican-American Mayor of a major American city, El Paso, Texas. He was also the first Hispanic appointed as a U.S. ambassador. Telles was born and raised in the El Segundo Barrio neighborhood of El Paso, Texas. Educated as an accountant, Telles worked at the United States Department of Justice for eight years. He was drafted into the Army in 1941. Telles then served in the U.S. Army Air Force where he became Chief of the Lend-Lease Program for Central America, Central and South America. Telles left the service with the rank of major. Telles received the Peruvian Flying Cross, the Order of the Southern Cross from Brazil, the Mexican Legion of Merit (Mexico), Legion of Merit and Colombian wings in recognition of the Lend-Lease Program. Ciudad Juárez ( ; ''Juarez City''. ) is the most populous city in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. It is commonly referred to as Juárez and was known as El Paso del Norte (''The Pass of the North'') until 1888. Boundary Treaty Of 1970
The Boundary Treaty of 1970 is a treaty between the United States and Mexico that settled all outstanding boundary disputes and uncertainties related to the Rio Grande (Río Bravo del Norte) border between them. The most significant dispute remaining after the Chamizal Settlement in 1963 involved the location of the boundary in the area of Presidio, Texas, and Ojinaga, Chihuahua. The river channel was relocated to approximate conditions existing prior to the dispute that arose from changes in the course of the river in 1907. The International Boundary and Water Commission was charged with its implementation. The Chamizal dispute was a border conflict over around on the Mexico–United States border between El Paso, Texas, and Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.
