Ralph Baker Jr.
Ralph Durwood Baker Jr. (February 3, 1945 – July 16, 2008) was an American broadcaster and actor. He was known for being a co-host of ''The Group and Chapman'' and ''Sump'n Else'' shows on WFAA-TV. He was known for being a DJ and announcer at KLIF-AM, one of the first Top 40 radio stations. Ralph was a "Teen Idol" broadcaster in the 1960s and was heard and seen in many television and radio commercials as well. In the mid-1960s he became known as "The Sanger-Harris Man" and was an official model for the Sanger-Harris department store. He starred in ''Night Fright'', a 1967 American science-fiction film that was shot near Dallas, Texas. Sump'n Else
''Sump'n Else'' was an American live teen dance television show that aired from 1965 to 1968 on Channel8 WFAA-TV in Dallas, Texas, formatted similarly to ''American Bandstand''. Hosts The show featuring a youthful host, Ron Chapman, who went on to local fame as the long-time morning host of KVIL 103.7 FM and often co-hosted by Ralph Baker, Jr. who was a local television and radio commercial announcer. Ralph was also known as The Sanger-Harris Man because he was a fashion model for the Sanger-Harris department store. He hosted the Sanger-Harris fashion segment on the ''Sump'n Else'' show. KNGO
KNGO (1480 AM) is a commercial Vietnamese full service radio station licensed to serve Dallas, Texas, and covering the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. It calls itself "Viet Radio" and simulcasts its programming with KGOW (1560 AM) in Bellaire, Texas. Owned by Hammond Broadcasting Group, LLC, the KNGO transmitter is located off of South Saint Augustine Road in Dallas. History The station signed on as KGKO in 1952, which played a mixture of pop music and jazz. In 1958, KGKO changed its call sign to KBOX, adopting a Top 40 format to compete with Gordon McLendon's top-rated KLIF (1190 AM). The KBOX call sign was chosen because the station was owned by John F. Box. Future WABC disc jockey Dan Ingram was an early voice on KBOX. John George Agar Jr. (January 31, 1921 – April 7, 2002) was an American film and television actor. He is best known for starring alongside John Wayne in the films ''Sands of Iwo Jima'', '' Fort Apache'', and ''She Wore a Yellow Ribbon''.
